Love & Lust. 
In honor of Valentine’s Day, I decided to make a mix that I feel exposes a major truth about romance today.  A lot of the rules of romance have changed in both reality and music. The way music discusses relationships or intimacy has taken a turn since the dawn of dating apps, the decline of chivalry, and the growing fear of commitment. 

Love & Lust – The two terms are interdependent and I wanted to show how they flirt so easily with one another. I believe that where most people find themselves is somewhere in the middle ground, which sometimes provides the most color. Romantic sunrises and sunsets exist at the fringes of day and night. Between black and white, we get more than 50 shades of grey (pun intended). That being said, we’ve all lusted after someone and believed it was love. Others have believed to be in love, only to later discover that it was lust all along. You can actively seek one, but always secretly desire the other. It tends to get more and more complicated. From a musical perspective, the new era of R&B has shifted to embrace the drugs, sex, and other vices that tend to further blur the line between love and lust. So, it would appear that we have accepted this grey area in our constant push-and-pull to achieve whichever side we’re desiring at the moment. To fill a void. 

Love & Lust naturally lended itself to developing two parts.
It was my original intent to make each part an individual tale of love and lust. Though, during my creation process I encountered difficulty trying to separate the two because of how easily they blended together musically. Now, each part weaves together elements to create stories of the in-between. 
After listening to both parts, maybe you will too realize that when stuck between Love & Lust, we are all just Lost.
