weirdtechnogirlfriend is a dance music producer & DJ from Melbourne/Naarm, Australia. She started learning music production as a hobby back in 2019 and not long after, started to learn to DJ. 

Having always had an interest in all genres of music, techno was the sound that changed everything for her. There was something enticing about the way the music made people move their bodies on a dark dance floor for hours, truely living in the moment. One early morning at a club in Melbourne was all it took - she fell straight down the techno rabbit hole. 

Influenced by 90's rave culture, German techno and Melbourne’s own underground sound weirdtechnogirlfriend claims to be “genre-fluid” Often collaborating with her partner in crime PAUL LE BÁY, together they have produced numerous high energy singles, an album titled “THE MIXTAPE” and countless Soundcloud bootlegs together.  

With no signs of slowing down in the studio anytime soon, weirdtechnogirlfriend is ready to get the party started!

Nadia's Picks #003 - Trance & Summer Vibes

"ASCENSION" is the debut album release from artist ston, an independently released project. 

For Ascension, I set out to explore hard house, bassline, and electronic elements throughout.

This body of work means a lot to me; it took up six months of my life and taught me so much about music production. It also taught me the importance of committing to what you set out to achieve and the struggles that can come with that. Most importantly, it showed me that imperfection is okay when the alternative is procrastination.

I created this album using the DAW FL Studio, and as of its release, I’ve begun transitioning to Ableton, a commitment I set for myself when I first began this project.
Through this experience, I’ve learned that moving forward, I want to dive into more intricate ideas and trust my creative process without falling into the trap of comparing my work to others. I’m eager to experiment with more abstract percussions, deeper emotional progressions, and unconventional grooves. It’s going to be a journey, but I’m excited for it to begin.
