ARTIST OVERVIEW: 

IamYunique is a talented recording and performing artist characterised by his provocative and consciousness commercial hip hop/ rap style. His music is infused with rap, rock, funk, jazz, pop, soul, ragga, crunk & traditional electronic music with energetic lyrics in English and Afrikaans that unifies his polyphonic grooves of his music. He creates a distinctive mark of his density of emotional lyrics, energetic body movements that takes the audience on a spiritual elevation and journey.

IamYunique's mixtape, R301, was released on the 29th of August 2009 under the label of Coded Records (known as Coded Music) in Cape Town, who he signed to on the 17th of January 2009. The mixtape consist out of collaborations with Mizchif, Miztah Naztaljah (who hype backs Yunique on stage), Xabiso, Supreme, Emage and the Multi- Grammy Award winner John Legend with the song "If you out there". IamYunique also took part in Reverbnations Sponsored Song Programme made possible by Microsoft Windows USA. His song "Dive" was chosen for the programme. This was due to IamYunique being ranked Nr.1 on Reverbnations Band Equity Charts Nationally for the hip- hop genre for more than six months. IamYunique is also a member of Music Placements, an A&R Agency that is responsible for music licensing or collaborations with artists such as Young Jeezy, Mike Jones, Toni Braxton, etc. and this will give IamYunique the opportunity to license his music for movie soundtracks, games and production collaborations in the United States of America.

His song “Moneymaker featuring Junior B” from his mixtape “Renovatio” was ranked number 2 on Mxit Music’s Top 40 Charts in 2008. “A gal named Lucy” reached number 1 on Radio KC’s Streetmix Hip Hop Show and “Shake ya Belly” was at number 9 on FHFM’s Top 30 Chart Show that is from his current mixtape R301. He is a qualified Sales & Marketing Manager, Audio Engineer, Station Manager & Technical Producer and Voice- Artist. IamYunique took part in a competition in the South African Music Week in 2000 and his group, Diziplez of Stone a.k.a. DOS, won the opportunity to record their album at Tin Pan Alley/ Cape Audio College with Gee. Their song "Stone Anthem" was included on the "Ek sê mamela! It's our music" Compilation. In the following year of 2001 he performed alongside Black Noise at a concert organised by him and then at the African Hip Hop Indaba at Beach Road Studios/ SABC. 

This year, 2009 he had numerous performances at established events in and around Cape Town which include the Graff Expo at Zula Bar and the Mc & Dj Battle at Club Vertigo in Long Street as part of the "African Hip Hop Indaba", CapCol Entertainment’s “Verses” at Club Night Shift2 in Eersteriver, the “Ithuba Arts Festival” at the University of the Western Cape where he received an award for his contribution to the arts in the Western Cape, Ultimate Element 5’s “Hip Hop Jam Sessions” at Killarney Race Track, the Urban Street Style Convention at Good Hope Centre, NFM 98.1 in stereo’s celebration for receiving their permanent broadcasting licence, plus many more. 

He had numerous performances with Mizchif (his friend and ex- manager) D- Form (ex- Moodphase 5 member), Blaq Pearl (the late Devious sister), Emo Adams, Afro- Z, Ayesha, Mafikizola, Black Noise, Freshlyground, Georgia Me (Tamika Harper - Atlanta, United States of America), Outspoken, Rattex, Mario Ogle, Timo Abdul Aziz Pahad, Emage, Perspektif, Suburban Menace, Grand Alliance, New Sons Cartel (NSC), Mc Cole, Garlic Brown, Genie Grindid, Spijo (member of the group H2O who collaborated with him on a song for his store release next year) Slu Dem Cru, plus many more. BIOGRAPHY OF DJ SMOMO

Siphosethu Xotongo who is mostly known as Dj Smomo is a producer, songwriter, also a DJ born in Western Cape, Cape Town, in a small township called Gugulethu on the 01 Fed 1994.
Smomo informally kicked off his music career in high school where he started a 4 man hip-hop crew called (Straight Ghetto) with friends Kagiso aka “Reejay”, Mabuti aka “D Lloyd” and “Prince” who formed the rap crew
In the year 2016 he learned the art of creating beats, where he discovered his unique style of Hip Hop and GQOM music. DJ Smomo describes his music as Gqom style with Afrikaans lyrics to make you dance, plus Hip Hop spaza trap sound trap in Xhosa language
His first single titled ‘Menemene, makes you dance. The single is currently causing waves on local radio stations and is believed to be a hit locally.
Being a music director in late 2017 Dj Smomo started his own recording company called Cape Sounds where he’s doing production work for up and coming artists.

Currently Dj Smomo is now working on his new EP & album due to be released in early 2019, which will showcase his type of style in the Cape Gqom genre. Features will be the likes of ……..and other upcoming artist.

Im am a up and coming Rapper/Mc From Cape Town. I have various flows and I Rap in both English and Afrikaans.  Been writing songs for over 9 years now , Influenced by the likes of Eminem , J cole , Nortorious BIG , Kendrick lamar , HemelBesem , Cream just to name a few

Sanne FM brengt Nederlandstalige muziek uit Vlaanderen en Nederland. We zijn te beluisteren via pc, tablet, smartphone of internetradio via www.sannefm.be.

Sanne FM is ontstaan uit een groep ervaren radiomakers, die al jaren actief zijn in de radiowereld. Met pijn in het hart stelden zij vast dat het Vlaamse- en Nederlandse genre niet correct worden behandeld op de bestaande radiozenders. 

Er is heel wat muziek gemaakt, luisteraars denken - als ze Nederlandstalige muziek horen - meteen aan schlagers, maar het Nederlandstalige genre heeft veel meer te bieden, gaande van kleinkunst, ambiance en schlager, belpop tot de hedendaagse Belgische en Nederlandstalige popmuziek, reggae, rap, ... en nog zo veel meer.

Sanne FM draait gemiddeld 75 % Vlaamse muziek, 15 % Nederlandse muziek en 10 % anderstalige muziek van artiesten uit België en Nederland. De nadruk ligt dus duidelijk op muziek van eigen bodem.

Sanne FM gaat vreemd is er dan weer voor anderstalige artiesten uit België en Nederland. Wij zijn ervan overtuigd dat alle parels van bij ons moeten gesteund worden in hun muziek. 

•	Alle artiesten die Nederlandstalig zingen mag. We verstaan onder Nederlandstalig de volgende talen: Vlaams, Hollands, Zuid-Afrikaans, Surinaams. Dus artiesten als Conny Francis, Semino Rossi, Steve Hofmeyr, ...mogen tevens de revue passeren.

•	Alle artiesten die anderstalig zingen hebben ook een plaats bij Sanne FM. Zij worden hierna "Sanne FM gaat Vreemd" genoemd. Deze anderstalige nummers mogen zolang het van artiesten zijn die uit België en Nederland zijn. Artiesten als Belle Perez, Lee Towers, Milk Inc, BZN, ... zijn van harte welkom.

I see myself as a pavement philosopher. I write about my own life experiences and that of the common man. His dreams, his problems and struggle to make a living. 
Some of the tracks are philosophical or religious, even if it is set in fantasy.
I ask questions, I want to make people think.

I’ve been in love with rap since childhood, stirred by icons such as Vanilla Ice, MC Hamer, Two In A Room, Kriss Kross and LL Cool J (to name a few), whom I emulated . 

I try and incorporate different music genres in my rap act to keep my music fresh and unique. I do my own style and would hate to sound like other rappers, especially not American and other international rappers. I don’t even want to dress like them, I want my own image.

I am neither a gangster rapper nor an American rip-off. My motto is: Dare to be different
I rap in Afrikaans, English and Motswako (a combination of the vernacular, township slang and English). I also sing my own choruses, do rugga (Afrikaans & English) and beatbox.

I say it like it is in my rap. I don’t hide behind cute words and politically correct phrases. Maybe that makes me a scoundrel  and a rogue. So I call myself Skobbejak before somebody else does!
Skobbejakunde (scoundrology!) is my pavement philosophy. Unisa should offer it as a subject: Skobbejakunde 101.

My great dream is to perform in front of huge sell-out crowds, that feel  my music as I do. I’d love to break into the international scène and collaborate with artists that I respect.

I never forget my Maker. He makes all things possible. Without him I am lost and helpless.
The loves in my life are: my four legged daughter Jelly, a Jack Russel and my pot belly pig. 

Ek is ’n sypaadjie filosoof (pavement philosopher). My skryfwerk/digkuns gaan oor my eie ervaringe in die lewe, ervaringe van ander – vernaam die minder gegoede mens, die gewone mens. 

Sy drome, sy probleme en sy struggle om ’n bestaan te maak. Daar is ook stukke wat meer filosofies en godsdienstig van aard is, al is dit soms in fantasie geset. Ek wil vrae vra en mense laat dink. 

My voorliefde vir rap kom van kindsbeen af, met ikone soos Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, Two In A Room, Kriss Kross en LL Cool J (om ’n paar te 
noem); wie ek getrou nage-aap het.

In my musiek probeer ek soveel as moontlik genres inkorporeer in my rap om elke track uniek en vars te maak. Ek wil nie soos ander kunstenaars klink nie, met ander woorde ek wil nie Amerikaanse en beroemde rappers naboots nie. Ek wil ook nie soos ander rappers lyk nie en het my eie image. 

Ek is nie ’n gangster-rapper of Amerikaanse afdruk nie. My leuse is: “Dare to be different”.

Ek rap in Afrikaans, Engels en Motswako (kombinasie van Engels en township slang en inheemse tale). Ek sing self van die koorgedeeltes ?(choruses) op my tracks, ek doen Rugga (beide in Engels en Afrikaans).

Ek sê ’n ding soos dit is, gebruik nie mooi woordjies in my rap nie. Miskien maak dit van my ’n ongepoetste ruwe mens. So ek noem myself Skobbejak voor iemand anders dit doen.

Skobbejakunde is my straat filosofie/pavement philosophy. Unisa behoort dit aan te bied as vak. Skobbejakunde 101.

My ideale en drome is om voor groot gehore op te tree wat my musiek voel. Om internasionaal op te tree en ’n samewerking (collaboration) met een of ’n paar internasionale groot name vir wie ek groot respek het.

Ek vergeet nooit my Skepper nie – hy maak als moontlik. Sonder hom is ek hulpeloos verlore.
My groot liefdes in my lewe is my vier-been dogtertjie, ’n Jack Russel en my pot-belly vark seuntjie. 

Ek haat politici en die games wat hulle met ons lewens speel.
