Far From Ya Average was created with the sole purpose of bringing a new and exciting form of hip hop to the world. They refuse to stay inside the box and their style fully represents that statement. Fans of any genre of music, from jazz to metal, can find something to love in the sound created by these San Diego, California residents. Created in 2008 by K-Rock and Stryve, F.F.Y.A. has set out to become a hip hop collective of sorts...boasting collaborations with a truly eclectic mix of MC's and recording artists. After bringing Hypebomb's own Def Shon into the fold, they truly have become an unstoppable force, consistently rocking shows with truly unforgettable performances in many different venues throughout California. K-Rock and Def Shon handle most of the production duties bringing elements of their own influences to the soundscapes so they remain as eclectic as the lyricism. Far From Ya Average have released their full length debut album entitled "Introducing...The LP" on HypeBomb Records/ Def Jam Recordings, available in many stores throughout the San Diego area and online worldwide through Amazon, iTunes, Rhapsody, Zune, etc. as well as, Def Shon's solo effort "Officially Official" and are currently working on their sophmore album. Kantorei Choirs of Greater Kansas City, a professional vocal ensemble whose membership consists of music educators, full and part time performers, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to educating audiences by performing music selected from the Medieval period through the 21st century. We specialize in concerts that explore the historical links between music of all eras and art, politics, literature and culture, and most importantly,  all with an attention to detail and performance practice. Concerts feature a wide variety of excellent music ranging from Schutz to La Bamba, from medieval chant to sophisticated arrangements of traditional folk music. Kantorei combines these in ways that serve the ensemble's broader artistic vision. We also presents the Kantorei Summer Choral Institute each summer bringing young people into the fold.

Kantorei has embarked on the mission of providing choral music opportunities in a rather unique way.  Our ensemble offers singers a concentrated but high quality choral experience.  We will be performing three times each year.  A Christmas concert and a Spring concert as well as our Kantorei Summer Choral Institute will round each season.

WHAT DO WE ACTUALLY DO? – Christ has called Davidical Arts Music Group to gather together creative hip-hop artists that have been either rejected or have moved away from “the existing music system” to equip and build them up together into a new tribe of people in Christ to be leaders in the Five Fold Hip-Hop Ministry for the purpose of bringing the ARK (an Authentic Relationship with the KING and His Praise, His Purpose, His Principles, His Pattern, His Purity, His People, His Power, His Provision, and His Presence) of the Father back to the restored Davidical Tabernacle (the Body of Christ), the music ministry, the music industry, and the hip-hop culture imparting faith, hope, and LOVE using our artistic anointing in the process.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO?

    We believe artists need to be more creative, use more of God’s wisdom, and use more of the anointing of the Spirit to increase their talents and skills so that Hip-Hop can truly glorify the Father God through Worship!
    We believe that music (no matter the genre) was created by God first for worship directed towards Him. It is not first for teaching or preaching the Gospel or even to reach the lost in the culture. All things are created by Christ and FOR Christ according to Colossians 1:16-17. Worshipping the Father and Glorifying the Father are primary purposes for Hip-Hop music. One is DIRECTED TO GOD (worship) and the other is more representing God TO OTHERS (glorifying). Every other use of hip-hop or any other music style of genre is secondary.
    We believe that if you make great music with great lyrics and great beats you give great people greater options to choose what to buy rather than buying the one pop (popular, trendy) bandwagon sound that’s currently out.
    We believe that good music is by definition uplifting, encouraging, edifying, challenging, honest, pure, joyful, peaceable, easy to be entreated, creative, innovative, anointed, is God inspired, full of wisdom, full of mercy, full of good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy, and that any music produced and put out by us should be able to sit along side any Psalm or song in the Holy Scriptures. And that if a song or album or single or whatever cannot in good conscious sit in the Bible with the other songs that it should be scraped, not even to appear on a mixtape.


DEADBEAT ESCAPEMENT

Combining sound with video art, installations, theatre and literature; the band Deadbeat Escapement have all the makings of a classic Art Rock band in the vein of bands that have preceded them such as The Cure, Pale Saints, David Bowie and Cocteau Twins; yet they bring something completely new, or as some might say, completely ancient to the fold: they’re from Greece.

Formed in Patras, Greece in 2006, current members Tryfonas Tryfonopoulos (guitars); Nikos Stefanopoulos (bass); Ioannis & Kopsinis (drums); Alex Fragakis (vocals, guitars) and Aggeliki Vardaka (vocals) have all known each other since childhood, yet they have led different lives. Tryfonas worked as a book and paper conservator with a specialty in medieval bindings. Alex has a family business importing beers and soft drinks. Ioannis is an active artist, works as an art teacher and also directing and producing Art and Music Festivals. Nikos is in the Information Technology business and Aggeliki holds a degree in accounting and business management.

Going even further back, the band members all have something in common with members of a band that first formed in 1964 under the name “The Beat.” The Beat had a sound originally inspired by The Beach Boys and they appeared as a cover band at parties of that time, with a few songs of their own. They played on and off for some years and by the late 70’s had various personnel changes. In 1985, the original bassist for The Beat, begins playing with his son in the group. Their sound at this time follows the dark wave sound of Cocteau Twins, Lush and Pale Saints, and their name changes to “Deadbeat.” From 1985 on, many members of the band changed and their musical landscape shifted with the times yet they always played in closed circles, refusing to release any of their music, keeping it confined to “family” and a few close insiders. In 2006 the band changed its name to “Deadbeat Escapement” and all the present members are now descendants of the musicians that created “The Beat” in 1964. After all the various incarnations of the band, they have finally decided to record a full length album.

After attending one of their live shows it becomes readily apparent that Deadbeat Escapement refuses to confine itself to music alone. The combination of music along with theatricality, video art and various installations, keeps the band constantly evolving – both on stage and off.
“The only thing that we have in common is geography”…..they state, but after taking a closer look at the band members, you can see that they share interest not only in music, but they share studies in painting, video art, art conservation, music technology and production.
Their live presentation in the vast majority consists of their own songs, and their statement that they play ART ROCK completes the band’s philosophy and image.

Rare Blend (Victor Samalot / Bobbi Holt - founding musicians), was born from a working relationship in a local music production house in Cleveland, Ohio. In between music projects, the two wrote instrumental music in the Jazz, Rock and Fusion genres with a progressive edge.

Expansion of Rare Blend to a quartet in 1998, and includes the outstanding musical artistry of Paul Stranahan, Jeff Scott, Vince Broncaccio and Ivan George. 


The music of Rare Blend continues to resonate with all who embrace progressive multi-genre instrumental music. RB’s music drips with atmosphere, somehow familiar and brand new at the same time.

Currently, Rare Blend is on permanent hiatus however given their creative appetite to mix style and genres, Rare Blend leaves a lasting discography that continues to reach new listeners.

Gross National Produkt (GNP) was born on the sun-scorched shores of Tampa, Florida from the unholy union of Riki Rezinunts and Martin Davis as an electro-industrial project back in 1997. What started off as a nameless yet definitive idea shared by the pair soon became the mission statement of the act: a desire to create electronic industrial music that always seeks to fuse itself with new elements, creating a constantly changing hybrid which strives to make each new track somewhat of a departure from the previous while still maintaining a signature sound paying homage to the roots of electro-industrial music. Though Martin was forced to leave GNP shortly after the project came kicking and screaming into the world, Riki was not discouraged from keeping it alive and further nurturing its development.

Since its formative years in the late 90s, GNP has given birth to six children of its own in the form of six full-length LPs, one double LP, one EP and has also spread its dark seed throughout several compilations; the most recent being "Replicator" a remix/cover comp EP from UCNX where GNP's remix of "The Innocent" first appeared. The remix was received rather well, receiving such praise as: "Gross National Produkt came out of their dark hole to deliver perhaps one of the darkest mixes the album has yet to see. They took The Innocent and made it not so innocent, working it over, chewing on it a bit, and then spitting out the bastard child they created through rigid terrains and the works. If you should gain anything from this ramble, it's probably that this is an awesome remix." -Steven Gullotta of Brutal Resonance.

On July 4th of 2011, about 4 years since the release of the Quaque EP, GNP released the full-length "Intensities : Sonics : Extremes" LP, an aggressive and stark collection of nihilistic machine anthems for the apocalyptic dance-floor. This LP was the first time since 1998 that GNP had more than one contributing member. Long time contributor and collaborator, Valen J. of experimental project CEO, joined the GNP fold.

The next couple of releases wouldn't appear until almost another 4 years. In November of 2014 the first in a series called the "RE:Produktion" series was released. This first volume of the series, entitled "RE:Mixed", contains remixes composed by GNP for other acts throughout the course of the bands history. The next release was unleashed on July 22nd of 2015. This double LP entitled "Progressions In Produktion" is a collection of b-sides and otherwise unreleased songs spanning the years of 1997 through 2012. This release is packed with 15 years, 27 tracks, and 146 minutes worth of unreleased material from GNP.

The latest release from GNP is incoming and should arrive January 16th of 2019, an EP entitled "Mōdraniht. The title track was written and recorded December 24th and 25th of 2018 and the remaining five tracks, already mostly finished, were completed in the days that followed. This EP includes no vocals, a first in a long time since GNP's formative years, and the vibe and feel of the album itself may bit of a departure from most GNP releases people have become used to hearing but, the ravor-sharp texturing, complex layering, ever-present breaks, and technical wizadry in general are still unquestionably GNP branded.

The next release which will be called "Noise" will be featuring a whole slew of guest vocalists and various collaborators from all over the world. This LP has been and will continue to be quite a laborous project involving many people and their busy lives so there is no telling when it will be ready for your ears unfortunately. It will come eventually... but only when it's done.

Meta Junction is a community of London-based electronic musicians and progressive experimentalists working with with classic hardware and innovative software.

The community’s output mixes a wide range of styles uninhibited by arbitrary labeling, marrying digital communication and new technology with analogue music production methods. Meta nurtures innovation and the characters of Meta Junction are a broad pallet - an inclusive mix of music makers and talents to enhance the electronic spectrum.  

  Realised by seasoned producer Phelan Kane, the Meta sound was born from an obsession with vintage analogue Moog, ARP & Oberheim synthesizers, modular systems, classic effects units, dub production techniques and a big arse Calrec mixing desk that takes the output way out of the box – with a nod to the classic sounds of the electronic trail blazers and confirmation that the computer is only one part of the production mix. 

Phelan Kane

From an early age Phelan Kane has been a purveyor of electronic music. Visiting the legendary BlueBird records long before UNKLE’s James Lavelle, Phelan soaked up the latest hip hop and Go Go releases in the mid '80s that led to ardent following of the likes of DJ Froggy and Pete Tong in Blues & Soul magazine. 

In 1987 Phelan was introduced to the Chicago & Detroit sound and the legendary Tony Humphries KISS FM radio show on a trip to New York, while back in the UK the emerging underground sound ushered in likes of Jazzy M’s Jacking Zone on LWR Radio, KISS FM, Centreforce, Phantasy and the legendary parties held by MFI, Sunrise and Genesis. 

Ever a devotee, this obsession continued through the next twenty years or so of rave culture and all its associated web of genres and styles, from the birth of Drum & Bass, the invention of Tech House & the early DMZ Dubstep parties.

By the late '90s, after graduating from Islington Music Workshop, the same engineering school that gave the world Grammy winner producer Paul Epworth, Kane was engineering and programming professionally and over the next decade clocked up a formibale roster including Placebo (Pure Morning, Every Me Every You, 20 Years), Witness (Before the Calm), Dido (Here With Me remix), Amanda Ghost (Ghost Stories), Snow Patrol (Starfighter Pilot), Elastica (Mad Dog), Aziz Ibrahim (Our Fold), Alabama 3 (Too Sick to Pray), Deus (Ideal Crash remix), Fangoria (El Extraño Viaje), Das Pop (I Love, The Human Thing) & Lalalover (Heliotropic). 

In 2001 Phelan worked closely with pioneering synth Mute recording artist, the late great Fad Gadget a.k.a. Frank Tovey. playing an instrumental part in Fad Gadget's support on Depeche Mode’s 2001 ‘Exciter’ tour and as part of the Fad Gadget band, performing at Euro Rock in Benelux and Wembley Arena.

Around this time Kane also began teaching his cutting-edge production techniques at Tech Music School, London where, in 2001, he taught Radiohead members Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway and in 2006 he completed a Masters degree in Audio Technology. He also became one of the first wave of Ableton Certified Trainers in 2007 and Kane has recently embarked on the path of Digital Audio DSP with study for a second Masters in Digital Music Processing.

Phelan Kane's sound is a seamless mix of analogue and digital thump, a collage of modular synth, outboard effects, plug-ins, mixing desk and computer - a mix of FX and sounds cut on the fly. This is the audio soundtrack to a psychedelic biomechanical future. 

Mole Vanity

By consistently misusing electronic musical hardware, Mole Vanity aims to put the experimental back into electronic music, under pinned by a robotic groove. Mole Vanity is propaganda for a state of mind.

Lag

Born out of an obsession with pushing the boundaries of electronic music beyond the 21st Century, Lag delivers an analogue and digital meld of weaving melodic contours and intricate rhythmic content.  An unfolding future shock of audio evolution, Lag re-defines the electronic blueprint.

Inpuht

Ripping up the blueprint for the so called future techno sound, Inpuht takes soaring squelch lines and marries them with melodic overtones, warm bass and shuffling beats. Welcome to the next era of Techno, where the music wears its heart on its sleeve, has a grin on its face and preconceptions are left away from the dance floor.

Ollie Torr

Ollie Torr is a musician, music producer and DJ from Prague. He is currently supported by the likes of RedBull, Puma and Jagermeister, as well as being a core member of the Bass Drop crew that is currently holding down the scene in Prague, a part of the infamous Life is Porno crew, and works with the PVP music label. His production and electrifying stage performance has got him sharing line ups with world class artists such as Foreign Beggars, Borgore, Baauer, Kendrick Lamar, Noisia, De La Soul, Fatboy Slim, Bloody Beetroots, Cyberpunkers, Cooh, Balkansky, to name but a few. He has appeared in many czech press articles, and has had a hit in Slovakia collaborating with legendary musician Miro Zbirka. Ollie often features on czech FM radios such as Expres radio (where he is a regular of bass music show Rezonator), Dance radio and Spin radio, and has also had his own show on MTV cz (Party Zone by Ollie). He has created sound and music work for companies such as Pepsi, Hugo Boss, Nydrle and countless others.

-Calc-

Accessible yet elusive, -Calc-‘s music is a blended fusion of analogue and digital; throwing at the listener sonic challenges without them even realizing it. A bouncy sensibility gilded with menacing grit charges his sound with a dynamic and invigorating temper, nodding heavily to the past but winking cheekily to the future. 

Phink

Rumoured to be the in-vitro love child of Miles Davis, Phillip Glass and John McCririck, the child Phink was monstrous and eventually adopted by Amish parents at the age of 43. As a teenager he developed an addiction to gobstoppers and finally found his voice after an embarrassing accident. The young Phink was saved by a revolutionary plastic surgeon, who performed a unique combination of skin grafts and analogue hardware. Phink's face was saved but he still has to live with a cumbersome 15 oscillator synth in his neck in place of his voice box.

Noole

Multi-instrumentalist from Guernsey via London, Noole has been involved in the electronic music scene since the late 90s as a producer, programmer and DJ. A self-confessed editing fanatic and all round gear head, Noole mixes abrasive glitchy rhythms with playful melodies and field recordings to create ambient noise pollution. 2014 is the year he shares this pollution with the world.

Flexagon

The term eclectic is oft over used, but where Flexagon is concerned it’s an accurate statement: since the mid 90s Flexagon has been playing music from ambient straight through dubby US garage and into Goa. With an ear to setting a positive mood and turning people on to new and interesting music, Flexagon’s trademark is starting out easy with an eye to directing people straight to the floor. Within the Guernsey-based producer / DJ’s prolific output you are always guaranteed to hear something new.
