Ruff & Jam (Respectively Jean-Marie Moens & Luke Mourinet) is a duo of Producers, Remixers, Songwriters and Recording Artists based in Belgium.

In the early days of their collaboration in the mid 90s, they’ve developed a couple of pop acts for the French market with the leading major companies. 

In 2001 the duo decided to wear the remixer’s hat so they picked up the Ruff & Jam Handle and founded their Remix & Production Company : Ruff & Jam Recordings, that same year they’ve started remixing for a couple of British Artists including Sophie Ellis Bextor.

2002 was the emerging year for Ruff & Jam with their official U.S. Radio Mix for Kylie Minogue and Billboard Magazine wrote : ‘With its innovative and catchy remix of Kylie Minogue’s “Love at first sight” (Capitol) riding high on the Billboard dance charts, Belgian production unit Ruff & Jam has made a big step onto the international scene.’

Ruff & Jam got their first Billboard #1 and a Grammy Award nominated Remix within the Best Dance Recording Category.

In 2004 they’ve penned ‘Another Day (Can’t let go)’ & teamed with British Singer Nina Babet (Ozark Henry,Milow…) It became their first single as Ruff & Jam and was released on Sony Music.

Their single hit the Dance Charts at #3 as best new entry and gave them their first Top 20 in the National Charts.

The record received a massive support from radios and an outstanding support among the most respected & Prestigious DJ/Producers including Armand Van Helden, Judge Jules, Tiesto (#1 in his playlist), Ferry Corsten, Joachim Garraud (F*ck me I’m famous),Olav Basoski to name but a few…

They kept on being prolific as remixers and delivered some reworks for The Killers, Robbie Williams, Bob Marley,Marianne Faithful, Sugababes, Amy Winehouse, Frou Frou, Scissors Sisters, Placebo,The Spinto Band,Polyphonic Spree, Mary J Blige, Tiga,we’re from Barcelona, Au Revoir Simone,Mika and more.

As well as collaboration and mix for Composer Extraordinaire Craig Armstrong and official Radio Mixes for Axelle Red, Delavega & Ozark Henry.

Their love and skills for electronic music has given them the opportunity to make some Sound Design work for virtual recreations of legendary synthesizers so they designed factory presets for Arturia’s ARP 2600 V, PROPHET V, JUPITER 8 V and will be in charge of Factory Presets for Arturia’s ORIGIN Hardware Synthesizer.

In 2007, they’ve founded their label Over:Kraft and signed a deal for one of their act on the legendary Southern Fried Records Label (Armand Van Helden, Mighty Dub Katz(Fatboy Slim)…).

2008 is the debut of an exciting partnership with Talpa Music.

My first record was a 45 of Boogie Fever by the Sylvers.  I played it on my mickey mouse turntable until I burned through 2 copies of it and countless needles.  That was 1978....  I'm a Classic Hip Hop junkie, DJ, guitarist, bassist, drummer, comedian, philosopher, rock, scissors and paper....

An experimental/electronic project started by guitarist, electronics and computer geek and hoarder of cra... ju... historical technological artifacts, Kat.

Kat's first forays into experimental music began before she reached age ten.  Using two open-reel tape recorders she would record anything from things being hit to snippets of radio programmes then cut the tape into bits with scissors, stick it together with Sellotape, loop it, bounce between machines and create "collages of sound".  At the time she thought of this as nothing more than a bit of fun and no recordings survive (having fallen to bits or been recorded over.)

Still at primary school she failed to learn to play guitar (discovering much later that the £5 second-hand acoustic bought by her father was utterly terrible and impossible to play anyway.)

Meanwhile her fascination with "how things work" resulted in her dismantling everything in the house, building her first radio at age five and a computer at thirteen.  Her steadily improving ability to repair discarded items of electronic equipment coincided with a reduction in the number of times she blew the house fuses.

Not long after moving to Manchester in 1990 to study at university as that great oxymoron, a "mature student", she was introduced to electric guitar while drunk.  She found to her surprise that she remembered chord shapes from her earlier attempts and could now play them.  Within two years she was playing in bands and jam sessions, surprising friends with her spontaneous improvisation.  It was around this time that Kat developed a liking for heavy use of effects and making her guitar sound like anything but a guitar.

In the years which followed, Kat had the opportunity to play around with four, eight and sixteen track recording gear, sequencers, synths and DAWs.  Little music was produced but her collection of old gear increased steadily.

September 2006 marked a turning point, Kat was dragged to her first psytrance party, discovered how to have fun and became a regular party-goer.  Her interest in creating music was rekindled with particular inspiration provided by the wide range of music she discovered in back rooms and chill spaces.

Kat's interests and hoard of random tech means she likes to combine old and new technology in interesting ways and is not averse to using open-reel machines and "radiophonic" tape manipulation techniques in conjunction with modern computer systems.

Hail to the Kitchen!” (The Prisoner Records / Audioglobe) is the title of the new album of TARICK1, the electronic project led by Andrea Calcagno, producer, DJ and musician, former bassist of the bands Laghisecchi and Numero6.

The album was released on May 25th, 2012 and the first single chosen –  ”Il pasto di Varsavia” – is a collaboration with the band Magellano.
The project TARICK1 was born in 1998 thanks Andrea’s  passion for electronic music and the golden age of the Italian disco music.

After a series of gigs and productions, Tarick1′s first album was realeased in 2006  (“Il dischetto rosso di Tarick1″ on Green Fog label) and obtained good feedbacks from audiences and critics, thanks to the innovative and funny video “Gotcha see you”.

Tarick1 toured around Italy and performed at some of the most important italian festival such as the Traffic Festival in Turin 2007 and Kaleidoskope Naples Festival the same year.  During this period Tarick1 started to work at the second album that became’ ‘ HAIL TO THE KITCHEN!”.
Many artistic collaborations with friends musicians  made this record a kaleidoscope of voices and sounds:  from Tommaso Cerasuolo from the band Perturbazione, to Alberto Pernazza from EX-OTAGO and FILOQ from Magellano, plus the legendary funky voice BOBBY SOUL, the drag queen PENELOPE PLEASE, and the new revelation of the Giulia Sarpero from labelmates Kramers.

A clever mix of  electro, funk, pop and vintage sounds which maybe reminds of the first Daft Punk but also the latest  Scissors Sisters.

The Generals were deployed in the summer of 2005 by longtime Sacramento CA music vets Matt Sertich (vocals, guitars, piano) and Kirk Janowiak (drums, programming, keyboards, backing vocals). Following the disbandment of the musicians’ former endeavor, Zero to Heaven, The Generals were born in Janowiak’s kitchen as a studio project purposed to re-imagine and re institute the sound—a climactic, soaring hybrid of modern programming and classic rock riffs—that Sertich and Janowiak had been slowly, somewhat unconsciously evolving throughout their 19 some odd years of collaboration.

     The result, a guerrilla-style series of early recordings that employed a synthesizer, a laptop, recorded keyboard and temporary drum tracks, was prolific, and it eventually led to a five-song demo entitled “Trains”. The Generals felt another member was needed in order to perform live so they recruited the bass playing skills of Blane Barker. With Blane in place, The Generals recorded and released their first official album, “Save Me” in 2007, proclaiming to critics and fans alike the band’s ability to deftly maneuver sprawling, emotion-packed ballads with a three-part compass magnetized by tightly wrought percussion and defiant, iron-clad vocals. After several years spent performing throughout Sacramento and along the West Coast, Blane parted ways with The Generals. The Generals wasted no time and soldiered on as a 2 piece once again. Only this time around they had felt they didn't need a bass player at this point in the game. The Generals then proceeded to record their second  CD, a self-titled full legth album recorded with Joe Johnston (Deftones, Cake). 
        The Generals have been a featured artist at www.myspace.com and boasted an average of 2,000 plays and 200 downloads per day, have won Battle Of The Bands competitions.  The Generals have also shared the stage with bands such as Modern English, Smashmouth, Five For Fighting, Everclear, An Angle, Scissors For Lefty, Joe Lally (Fugazi), The Secret Handshake, Armed Forces Radio, The Storytellers, Rona, The Black Moon Ritual, Dusty Brown, Doom Bird, Sea Of Bees, Debora Iyall (Romeo Void), Nice Guy Eddie, Deer Park Avenue, and many others.
    Enter the year 2012 The Generals found themselves back in the studio once more finishing up their 3rd and most highly anticipated CD yet entitled ‘Keep Your Light On’ with Joe Johnston engineering once again.  All mixed and mastered, ‘Keep Your Light On’ promises to deliver all the heart felt lyrics, catchy hooks and rich epic melodies (and then some) that embodied The Generals first 2 releases.  Though no release date has yet been set.  The Generals hope to perhaps appeal to a worthy established record label to set one for them.  
     Though comprised of only two members, The Generals have altered the game, delivering a live show that lays it all on the line and commands as much attention as a five-piece ensemble. This is not music for the injured and the defeated, but ammunition for those who believe in the beauty of second chances.
