"People Would Say" was just a couple words, an idea, when I finished up last years album so consider it an "other song" for purposes of this release! A conversation with a friend about finding music so late in my life led to this song. I should have finished it sooner, it's a personal favorite!

I’m happy to announce the release of RockCounsellor’s latest song, ‘The Privilege’, produced in collaboration with Richard Campbell at Orpheus Studio, who once again has used his wizardry and made his magic, so I can so proudly release another song from my head out into the world. 

The song is about the privilege of experiencing someone else’s vulnerability. It’s inspired by the access my work gives me to people’s inner worlds, which are sometimes very much at odds with how they present themselves to the outside world.

When so many of us are isolated from direct contact with friends and relatives, being vulnerable and sharing our fears and anxieties with our loved-ones can be so helpful in coping with the uncertainty we are facing.

It can also be helpful to listen to music!

Hi, my name is Nikolaos (Nick) Papakalos, a.k.a. Supergiant. I am an artist, composer, songwriter, lyricist, music producer, sound designer and musician currently living in Athens, Greece. My interests range from music to arts in general. I am also keen on reading, writing and painting.

Coming from a musical background in which I was familiarized with ethnic music from a very early age - way before this genre became a trend - I naturally developed an understanding of its multifaceted character.

It was exactly that sense of diversity that made me become a multi-instrumentalist; an attribute that has borne fruit in many aspects of my dealing with music either as a member of a band or on my own.

My long engagement with it, gave me the opportunity to gain the necessary knowledge for writing, co-writing, arranging, composing, producing and playing as well as for any other pursuit pertinent to this type of art.
