ARTBAT return to Definition:Music after their last release, ‚Mandrake EP‘ gained loads of support from heavy hitters like Richie Hawtin, Umek, Oivlier Giacomotto and more. This time they’ve come with ‘Saltation’ this time, a collaboration with Definition, as well as an original paired with a Joal remix. First things first, the title track slowly opens its dark doors and lets the cool air flow as the energy slowly rises. As we get closer we see just how deep it gets as the kicks return and things really pick up. A great atmosphere, solid production and a brilliant bassline carry this track throughout. ‘Upcast’ gives off more of a deep house vibe thanks to a seducing percussion. As the track opens itself further it lifts everything higher and further before dropping you back onto the dancefloor. Joal gives the track a tech-house feel and explores the subtler sides of the track, giving it a glowing after-hour feel.

Artbat rips open a delicious EP with ‚Chivvy / Momentum’ on Definition:Music. A two track affair, ‚Chivvy / Momentum’ sets out to take some serious crowds head on. A dirty bassline sequence writhes to form the meat of ‘Chivvy’. From there, the duo takes the track further with a thumping kicks, adding even more pressure with each note of the melody. A fantastic late night journey. ‘Momentum’ shifts the focus off of the flexed muscles of Chivvy, and into an equally energizing subtler realm. This is a dark underground track, with the vocal monologue adding to the natural feel of the track. Two distinct flavors, each packing heat, making for an outstanding EP.

Maksim Dark has already won some pretty influential friends over with his unique brand of groovy techno. Scalameriya returns to Perc Trax after the success of 2016's 'Kepslok'. Since then he has continued to break new ground both as a solo artist and via his ongoing collaboration with Italian producer VSK, playing across Europe and releasing on a number of key labels whilst growing his own Genesa imprint.

Now for his first release of 2018 he takes a giant leap forward both musically and technically with the three track statement of intent that is his 'Hellzone Megapunk EP'. Each track demonstrates new techniques and approaches not heard in his music before, from the 4/4 versus broken beat cage fight of the title track to Crucible's rolling polyrhythms and the otherworldly processed vocals of the closing track.
