Another song about the transience of existence. What was beautiful yesterday can be over again today. Some people are ripped from their lives by fatal accidents, murder or a sudden death. And in many cases we don't know why. The need for security and control can ever turn into complete helplessness and speechlessness. 
Just as in the fate of a woman, which I have sung about and felt like here. When she comes home from work one day, there is nothing more of her husband except the wedding ring lying on the kitchen table and an SMS: "I am leaving you". The evening before, they make plans and he explains his love to her. Overnight he disappears (until today) untraceably…..

On one of my many tramp tours a French lady named Elain once took me with her. During the trip from Paris to Strasbourg she told me her life story and that she had decided, after more and more agonizing depressions, to put an end to her life. She implored me to accompany her, which I strongly rejected at the time. Rather, I desperately tried to convince her to continue her life. When we said goodbye in Strasbourg, she promised me not to hurt herself. 

A good thirty years later, I do not know what happened to her. In this song, I give free rein to my vision of what it could have been like if I had granted her wish for assisted dying. - A highly controversial theme- . I only give here my passionate pladoyer for accompanied and dignified dying.
