LAST KISS (COVER/REMAKE)

The latest track from my Not Completely Useless project. I tend to think of it as a low-key one for me - still quite a bit going on; Sonic Youth-style triplet feel intro, bass grooves, organ, touches of syncopation and a change of pace for the outro... there's just not as much guitar heroics as usual.

This one is about missing my kids when I was away at a festival. And my eldest daughter - then 6 I think - wrote the lyrics for the chorus.

I guess thats the other amazing thing that real musicians can share... For years we stare through our instruments at the world of music and then someday we connect and the visions combine. We'll keep comparing our world to the world of fake music until it is the fad that it should be... AI cannot deliver you a connection like we just started. You may get a remotely similar result but heres whats real... AI has never has our eyes to look at the woerld for 40 odd years with and it never will. Heres to real human connections and real music. One note... A buddy just said to me man we are just vessels for songs and if the song wants life it picks one of us. I had never given it too much thought, but this song feels that way at the moment 

I might finally find a straight jacket with this rabbit hole... Music has consciousness Hmmmm... Or better imagined... Could it actually have some pre existing universal intent of some kind which we merely channel...

Plenty of my songs seem alien to me right after I make them as if they came from somewhere else. I know that sounds crazy but I do note the feeling when it's there and move on
