Murder He Wrote teased a WIP of a Dubstep track inspired by the Big Apple Records era on Twitter a year ago, and things went a bit crazy. Shortly after it ended up in the 1Forty inbox. The 1Forty camp couldn’t think of anything more tantalizing for a feature than letting old Dubstep sounds collide with an MC of today. An MC of today that is more than familiar with the Dubstep rave scene. Step forward Logan to make this their second collaboration after the 2019 smash on UKG cut ‘Worthwhile’, this time reconnecting for ‘Realist’ for Murder He Wrotes first official Dubstep release, and making this release number fourteen between the two collectively on the label.

Blending elements of Broken Beat, UK Garage, Soca and House into his own off-kilter take on bass music, Murder He Wrote’s playful productions and edits have been destroying clubs worldwide for some years now. Originally breaking out via a flurry of releases on the Roska Kicks & Snares imprint, MHW’s tracks have gained heavy support from a diverse range of dance music's most respected tastemakers including Mary Anne Hobbs, DJ EZ, Gilles Peterson, Redlight and Jamz Supernova. Working across 3 decks, his eclectic, low-end focused DJ sets have seen him land guest mixes on BBC Radio 1, Boiler Room, NTS, Rinse FM and BBC 6Music - alongside a touring schedule that’s taken in clubs and festivals around the world including Fabric, Ministry Of Sound and Outlook.

Since 2019 we’ve seen a MHW Boiler Room debut, a production on Fox’s debut album ‘Juice Flow’ on Swing Ting (one of Mixmag’s albums of the year), the heavily supported singles ‘Honey Riddim’ ft Snowy and ‘Worthwhile’ ft. Logan, the latter making the A-List on Rinse FM and Spotify’s 'New Music Friday’, and DJ sets across Europe, North America and Australia. More recently there’s been two collaborations with UK Funky legend Roska, official remixes for Afro B, T-Pain, Zed Bias and Children Of Zeus plus an eclectic run of singles on MHW’s own Rhythm Athletic imprint - amassing over a half a million Spotify streams and support across BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, NTS and 6Music and more guest mixes across the stations too, as recent as Annie Nightingale at the start of November.

2019 really saw Logan come into his own as both an artist and an MC, being picked up for LOTM8 by Jammer paired with a string of high profile releases making him without doubt one of the most versatile names of today's generation of MCs. With releases across MoreTime Records, with Kouslin on Durkle Disco and Idris Elba’s ‘Yardie Mixtape’ respectively, says all you need to know. There are also honorable mentions for tracks ‘Like Me’ with Treble Clef and ‘Ready Fi Di War’ with Trends both of which gained significant traction across the BBC, Rinse & Reprezent also, before a run of huge underground smashes on 1Forty elevated him once more including ‘Bun Dem Down’ with Hamdi and ‘Set Trends’ with MPH.

Welsh born producer Warwick started producing in 2016 across a plethora of genres before landing on his sweet spot somewhere between UKG, Bass and Breaks in 2019. Now based in London, he found himself swept along by the resurgence in said genres over the last couple of years releasing on Rinse FM, ec2a, Kiwi Rekords, Dansu Discs, GLBDOM and Haws which has lead to bookings in the capital, regular guest slots on Rinse FM as they continue to support him post release, and support from the likes of Bonobo, DJ EZ, Partiboi69, Emerald and UK #1 artist Interplanetary Criminal.

With quite an eclectic range of support from top tier artists tells you all you need to know about his approach to music. Incorporating one genre into another to infuse the two is the motivation that fuels his desire to create in the studio.

The exact formula that lead to Redux taking Track 3 on 1FGRM008. “Redux is essentially an Eski track rewritten into a Breaks track” said Warwick when asked about how this record came about.
