This week DEVO announced only their second-ever Scottish show in 30-odd years, and HENS BENS would like to support them. This will be a difficult ask, as we already know there's no support at the London date and also who are HENS BENS?

To make our case to DEVO's members, management, promoter and anyone else who will listen, HENS BENS have recorded this song. We are hoping that people will share the song with everyone they've ever met in the faint hope of making HENS BENS' dream come true.

Every penny spent on the song at hensbens.bandcamp.com (although you can also download it for free) will go towards the HENS BENS BATTLE FUND. This BATTLE FUND will be used in the fight against all other bands.

FUCK OFF PHILIP is about a dispute with a small business owner. HENS BENS 2000 is about selling all your stuff and becoming a brain in a jar. WEIRD A.I. YANKOVIC is about technological solutions to dickheads on the internet. I DON’T FEEL VERY WELL is about having a cold. GRAN TURISMO 3 is about Snoop Dogg’s little-documented early-2000s PlayStation addiction. MILD is about kidnapping a magician. PLEASE CAN HENS BENS SUPPORT DEVO was released as part of an unsolicited campaign to get on the bill for DEVO’s 2023 UK tour. It didn’t work. 

As a live music entity their shows aren’t like those by other bands. While playing as many of their sub-2 minute nonsense masterpieces as they can fit into a standard set length, they incorporate fresh fruit, balloons and power tools. HENS BENS do not speak between songs, with the band instead relying on AI-generated crowd banter over which they have no control. There are LEDs attached to things. There are costume changes. The shows are a combination of loud noises and rainbow nonsense.  

In 2023 HENS BENS found themselves on a number of end-of-year best-of lists, in places such as BBC 6 Music and The Herald. Success will not change HENS BENS. HENS BENS are highly-trained professionals.
