I’ve decided to remaster some albums and tracks that have already been released.  Just felt I could give them a different kinda sound...

I import the audio files into the daw and then usually load one or more processors of some kind (vinyl, compressor, desk emulations etc) on the stereo master buss. This is configured to colour, shape the sound. My versions are sometimes lower in vol level than the originals. Some releases are hot to signal, but I'm looking for an inherent sound.

Sometimes I apply some chamber and or hall reverb.

-Here’s something for Bob Dylan,

The sneakers quietly snicker-snacked on the gymnasium floor.

(When I was at university in ’95 a guy called Dave Butt who was a bit of a poet, playwright, musician, you know the type, pretty well came up with this one, this is my version of it all these years later. Another guy with long hair, Adrian, there was a bunch of us sitting around a campfire at night, walking the Bridle track in the countryside ‘round Hill End ‘bout four hours west of Sydney, came up with the image of ‘Patrick the legless lizzard.’ It was all quite amusing. Adrian was a bit like the character Layne out of River’s Edge but not frenetic like Layne, he was just visually like him. Guitars were also brought out on this occasion, these guys I’m talking about were in their final year at uni, where I and some others were starting our first year. There was an annual deal of walking this track over two days. It’s all coming back now, on this same night, about three of these guys had acoustic guitars, I think Dave Butt was a part of that. And they were saying, let’s do Graceland stuff, Graceland’s cool. Dave was also in a band with his girlfriend Maddy, she was the singer. It was called Fraught With Eskimo. Dave also wrote and directed an out-there very good kind of sci-fi play that year called Fraxel Twixt).

-On the night of the 23rd of June 2023, that’s Sydney time, Yihweh came through to me that he wanted me to pray about someone. So I did. The prayer was about Vladimir Putin, that Yihweh would give him some light and bring him closer to him. I couldn’t say how long this would last with Vladimir Putin, I’d include anyone in this, how long is it that someone stays closer to Yihweh after being given some light? Well, it depends. But Yihweh did this, and involved myself by way of the prayer he gave me to say. he actually gives us all our prayers, it’s a way of involving us in things that he’s doing.
So, as it goes, the next day, the 24th, we see that Yevgeny Prigozhin launches an attack on a Russian city, also talking of a coup and plans to advance with his soldiers to Moscow.
Nice to see this morning, the 25th, that a peaceful settlement to the situation has been brought about, the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, negotiaing with Prigozhin who will now live in exile in Belarus. This is after Lukashenko spoke with Vladimir Putin regarding the situation. Prigozhin has ordered his mercenaries to avoid “shedding Russian blood.”
It’s not that I often pray for Putin, although I have done so before. 
This is example of the power of Yihweh to bring about peace.

The Beatles (Remisted)

I decided to creatively remaster some albums and tracks that have already been released.  

A selection of tracks from Wish You Were Here, 1975

With this remist, I basically wanted to use two alternate versions of two of the tracks (recorded during the sessions, 1975), incorporating them into the album. These two tracks were released on the Wish You Were Here Experience Edition cd, 2011. 

The first is a version of Have A Cigar with Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters singing lead vocals instead of Roy Harper who is guest vocalist on the original release. This alternate version also has an extended guitar solo.

The second is a version of Wish You Were Here which I feel is better in sound and arrangement than the released version, also features Stéphane Grappelli on violin. 

The alternate version of Have A Cigar has a fade out, to silence. In the released version of the album the track decreases rapidly in volume to a washy synth sound towards the end of the track. It’s then put through effects to give the effect of the audio being heard through a car radio. Wish You Were Here then begins also in reduced volume, coming to full level after its intro.
In the intro we can hear someone sniffing (barely audible), the idea being that they’re sitting there listening to the song.

With the outtake track I followed the same idea to a certain extent, including creating a washy synth sound to replicate the original, but when there’s the switch to the radio sound I also put a reverb on the mix to give the effect of a warehouse, i.e. the idea of a worker or workers in a corporate warehouse listening to the track. 
I added samples of radio static and a variating radio frequency sound (replicating the original) from effects on the the moog, through to the intro of Wish You Were Here. 
Towards the end of Wish You Were Here I created some wind sound using the moog, earlier into the track, again following on from the concept in the released album, later allowing the original wind sound to take over where it came in.

I also recorded a sniff (of my own) and some background sounds, replicating the original.

For the remist I retitled tracks,
