Passion; it's the spark that starts the engine, the hurricane that fans the flames, the total faith in someone, something, someplace? And this is its theme tune.

Courtesy of currently unstoppable Paradiso bossman Rees, 'Passion Theme' is the latest dispatch of smouldering sonics on Alan Dixon's burgeoning Love Attack label, which launched earlier this year with a stellar trip from the mighty Man Power. A star-lit synth smile brigade with themes of Italo, new beat and early Chicago house, it's the vibrant soundtrack we all so dearly need as we gear up for the return to our favourite dancefloor corners.

It's backed by more cosmically minded modern day disco themes of 'Infant Hercules'. A triumphant, slab of synth-soaked house music, the title is a homage to his hometown Middlesbrough and its rich industrial history. Remix-wise Disco Halal chief Moscoman & Komilev keep the creative furnace glowing with a spiralling Italo-inspired twist.

Finally Rees gifts us 'Sapere Aude'. A much tougher, moodier piece of electronic soul, the passion still buzzes through the track but there's a poignancy in the sweeping chords and arpeggio that build and build into an emotional volcano. Engines ready to spark, flames ready to fan, the passion on this one palpable. Sent with love.

The Mamas & The Papas - California Dreamin' (Mita Gami Edit)

The collaboration between Kelton Prima (Mathematics Rec) and Hard Ton marks another step forward. After their cover of Culture Club’s mega hit 'Miss Me Blind', that got released last year on Nang with a set of great remixes, this time they bring back to life 'Too Funky', the seminal track by George Michael, celebrating hedonism, love and fashion. The Glamour, the fun and the funk are not missed in their version, with a strong reminiscence of 80’s disco and soulful pop. “Would you like me to seduce you”?

The package comes with the original and dub versions alongside remixes from Norwegian disco don Prins Thomas and Love Attack label head Alan Dixon.

2. Kelton Prima ft. Hard Ton - Too Funky (Alan Dixon Houz Dub)

London-based electronic duo LiiN, Neil Simons and Mal R have teamed up with Alan Dixon's Love Attack Records to create a EP of remixes taken from their new album ‘Fentanyl Flowers’. Ranging from introspective, kaleidoscopic and sometimes unnerving pieces to dance-floor ready tracks their music takes the listener through a variety of shimmering worlds.

On the remix EP Alan Dixon takes the lead with a remix of 'A Possible Maybe' which is followed by three 'Night Mixes' by the duo themselves.

Rising Bristol talent @senorchugger serves up a huge remix here for his pal @remiwanless on @alandixonmusic's @loveattackrecords that pushes all the right button. Blending elements of Italo with a techno sensibility and all filtered through a super-widescreen production sheen, his feisty retro synth work creates a dynamic atmosphere through a relatively simple melodic structure.

Sophie Lloyd’s debut on Classic Music Company ‘Calling Out’ came last year as an antidote to the pervading doom and gloom of the news and a dreary winter, and inspired remixes from David Penn, Danny Krivit, Riva Starr and Floorplan. Her follow up single ‘Raise Me Up’ sees her re-unite with soul trio Dames Brown to deliver a dose of gospel-infused, joyous, uplifting house music. Sophie’s impeccable knowledge of disco and soul shines through on the record, with organ chords and rhythmic percussion bringing the authentic gospel sound of countless classics. The 80's are back in full force on Alan Dixon’s debut for Tensnake’s True Romance imprint. The London producer is on the rise with releases on Lumberjacks In Hell and Running Back this year alone. “Motel 4000” serves as a further assertion of his prodigious talent in the studio.
Title track “Motel 4000” dishes out a full body experience with a powerful italo chug, vintage chord progressions and racy trance undertones. Watch out for the piano house choruses that sound like they’ve been pulled out straight out of a classic. It’s a big one.
On the flip, Patootie Tango is a like- minded cousin. Big disco claps and jazz funk inflections command proceedings here and make for a perfect early night heater.

The second release on Alan Dixon’s Love Attack label comes from the man himself, delivering a dreamy new EP entitled 'Night Time Melodies’.

Following high-profile releases on Gerd Janson's Running Back and Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant, Alan moves to his deeper side kicking things off with ’Night Time Melodies’ - an infectious piano house workout that sees super-slick keys dance elegantly around a chuggy, bumping bassline and beautifully resonant synth licks. Once again demonstrating his unfaltering ability to craft alluring, feel-good dance music Alan offers up a slice of sun-drenched optimism.

The track also receives a groove-tinged remix from Kiko Navarro moving things into the main room. Punchy snares and shuffling hats set a footwork-provoking rhythm underneath energetic, stabbing piano chords, with Navarro gradually working in a delectable wobbling acid line ramping up the energy for a sense-tingling, euphoric re-work.

The release is backed up by 'Tell Me When’, a modern-sounding club track to be heard in places such as Berlin's Panorama Bar. Pillared by an irresistible bassline, Alan lays down a dusty kick-hat pattern, punctured by ecstatic claps and engulfed in a plethora of scintillating synths.
