From French father and Minahasan mother, Onyx Tikal was born and raised in capital city of Jakarta. An adept of spiritual food, soulful connections Onyx is deeply moved by ancestral, folk and ceremonial entrancing music. She finds that the right music can be great medicine for the soul. With a multi cultural upbringing, Onyx DMT has developed an ear, and from a rich repertoire of world music spanning from India, the Middle East and South East Asia - she has cultivated listening, to remember sounds, scales or harmonies and sing the song lines of emotion. Continuously nourished by the music of the peoples of Mongolia, Persia, Afrika, and by rare and strange sonic signatures coming from very remote parts of the world, Onyx continues to explore with percussive instruments, mouth harps to name a few. Intuitive singing and drumming are her mediums to practice devotion to the Self, the Other and The One.  

Through inspirational philosophies found in Sufism, Buddhism, and Animism, Tikal feels into the space and energies around intentionally. In "Sabda", now called L.I.V.E. in Prayer circles she invites us to offer our gifts in collaborative sound creation through the medium of our vocal chords and our heart where songlines are channeled in alignment with where the body sits like an anchor, we open the instrument to make an offering with only what we have in infinity, our spirit or consciousness - to remember our "power" and to gift in elation to Source, to Creation - residing in each of us. Let us celebrate raw beauty in WHAT IS by purely experiencing life moment to moment.

Outside of Sabda meditations or LIVE circles, with immense pleasure in working alongside Travis Jekks on the Tar - another string player and soul brother, and Duke Autret, guitarist and intuitive player, Tikal will sing to the deep sorrows, to the heart aches and the profound joys. She will open aspects of the heart to guide into an elating musical journey that inspires and allows for one to face emotions as they come, as they are. In honoring them, Tikal feels it is a way of flowing with grace, of relating to oneself, of riding the wave of personal acceptance.
 
Tikal gives weekly intuitive singing circles now called Liberate Intuitive Voice Expression, and events once a month called L.I.V.E. in Prayer & Meditation.
Events of sound meditations are also not to be missed. She finds them to be excellent ways for exploring the aspects of the constantly manifested self, the vastness of the mind, the profound intelligence of the body and the driving mysteries of the soul. 
The intutive singing circles are more for inspiring RADICAL CHANGE, to support great inner transformation, and she finds this "medium" being one of her favourite ways of cultivating our inner power.
