You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".

Driven by a passion for the best in bass music, circling around UK Garage, Bassline, Grime, House and everything good in-between, in 2014 #NightBass boss @ACSlater made it his mission to expose North America to these strongly under-represented genres and in doing so, he's established club and record label Night Bass as a wildly successful, internationally renowned institution for ground breaking, forward-thinking dance music that's spearheading an underground movement across the country.

Patrick Chen (formerly known as PTX) has reinvented himself as ‘Animato’, with a new style that borders on a delicate meeting point of modern Progressive Psy-Trance. 
This project was a natural step forward, as Animato has gotten firsthand experience on the worldwide psychedelic circuit. After a few years of constant grinding in the studio, worldwide shows & performing on the biggest stages at events such as Boom Festival, Dreamstate, Psy Fi, & many more, he summarized his long journey in the fields of consciousness with a masterpiece debut album called ‘Harmonize’. Including guest appearances by Liquid Soul, Freedom Fighters, Ritmo, Perfect Stranger, Ticon & Sonic Species. 
People refer to this work of art as 'Animato’s book of memories'.
Animato was always an expert in creating great progressive melodic tunes. Lately, he's been pushing his boundaries with a psychedelic hybrid of power and emotion, wrapped in that famous Animato production style. 
In the last year, Animato has continued to tour across the world being invited back to large events while performing at ones such as Boom festival 2018, EDC, Tribe Festival, and Airbeat One. All while still releasing tracks under major labels with artists such as Ace Ventura, Ritmo and more as well as appearing on compilation albums like Street Parade 2018 Official (mixed by Liquid Soul), Vini Vici ( Dream State ) and more.

For Sam Walker and Gavin Royce, the question is the fundamental test of their studio output. Simple as it may sound, for this perfectionist pair it’s anything but. Their innate dance floor intuition, combined with years of experience behind the decks, drives them to create music that isn’t just playable — it’s irresistible.

First introduced by way of New York City's early-aughts dance music scene, Sam Walker and Gavin Royce first teamed up for a remix in 2011. The duo found early success on tastemaker labels like Crosstown Rebels, OFF Recordings, and Moda Black, scoring an Essential New Tune nod from Pete Tong with 2014’s “Sister.”  The indie dance and deep house sounds that informed Walker & Royce’s earliest work soon gave way to something different. Quirky accents and bouncy synths, previously deeper in the mix, leapt to the forefront, backed by a propulsive new energy. The success of their November 2015 “Bright Lights” remix was a clear indication that they were onto something.

In October 2017, Walker & Royce released their debut album Self Help on Dirtybird, which both showcased and expanded upon their now-signature sound. The guys enlisted numerous vocalists, including Green Velvet, Dances With White Girls, and Sophiegrophy, to make Self Help feel like a packed house party – while leaving no doubt about who was hosting.  Self Help was followed by further experimentation and growth. Sam and Gavin have collaborated with Claude Vonstroke, Ardalan, Chris Lake and VNSSA just to name a few as well as remixed Channel Tres, LP Giobbi, The Knocks, Justin Jay, Gorgon City, Mindchatter; and put out music on Relief, Black Book, HotBOi Records and more. Their Rave Grave EP was the inaugural release on Diplo’s house-focused imprint Higher Ground.  Continuing to push boundaries, they have launched their own label Rules Don’t Apply Records, with the ethos just as the name states…No Rules, just good music.

Walker & Royce have spent years honing in on their one-of-a-kind style, meticulously crafting the sounds they want their fans to hear in clubs, at festivals and in their headphones. The result is a cohesive, career-defining body of work that firmly places the duo at the forefront of dance music's future.
