I was in the UK last year after a massive summer of touring, caught the train down to Brighton with some friends, and ended up in an incredible studio overlooking the beach. I was missing home a bit, but feeling really inspired and wanted to write a feel-good record, reminding myself of the importance of saving time for the ones I care and love. Whilst (In the studio) overlooking the same site Fatboy Slim hosted his ‘Big Beach Boutique’, I was thinking about the UK’s dance music history, it inspired me, and decided to lean into the idea of writing something that sounds sampled, but isn't. I often like to write records completely on my own, but it feels so perfect to have written this one alongside some good pals — Clementine Douglas, Caitlin Stubbs & Toby Scott.

Wasting no time enjoying the spoils of their victory as the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Poll’s #1, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike return to the studio to take on Ummet Ozcan & Brennan Heart in a clash of the titans ‘Beast (All As One)’. The track is set for release on 15th November and marks the duo’s first release since winning the coveted top spot. 

Kicking off with shimmering keys, the singalong melody is ushered in with a chorus of “ladies and gentlemen”, before Dimitri & Mike’s signature big build loads up the confetti cannons. In classic fashion, the melody returns and is turned-up-to-ten, while this instant big room flavour gives us a taste of what will surely be soundtracking next season’s festival mainstages. With a number of high-profile collaborations already accrued this year in addition to ‘Instagram’, including the hit ‘Best Friends Ass’ with Paris Hilton, Belgium’s favourite brothers continue to push boundaries and utilise their network of the biggest names to innovate and provide fresh cuts with each release. Wasting no time in following up their recent smash collaborations ‘Clap Your Hands’ with W&W and Fedde Le Grand and ‘Raver Dome’ as 3 Are Legend alongside Steve Aoki, Justin Prime & Sandro Silva, the latest team up sees the Belgian brothers unite with psytrance heavyweights Vini Vici for ‘Get In Trouble (So What)’. The coming together of these musical juggernauts is as heavy as you’d expecting, combining both duos extensive knowledge in music production and ear for a hit to great effect, utilising a standout sample that elevates the track skywards.

A fighting chant builds towards the fast paced drop and sets the tone from the start, as clever use of LFO on a synth cranks up towards the first breakdown, which introduces the iconic vocal that is sure to whip fans into a frenzy. This is carried into the main break, where the familiar guitar lead joins the vocals before switching up to accommodate a high pitched lead that continues into the beat. 

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Vini Vici have a strong history of partnership, with the latter’s premier psytrance label Alteza working under the Smash The House umbrella, and that synergy is on show with ‘Get In Trouble (So What)’, which follows on from previous heavy hitting collaborations such as ‘Untz Untz’ and ‘The House Of House’.
