SMB Super Show - SMB2 Overworld (In-Game Accurate)

I think a City Pop styled track has been way overdue, I brainstormed for a bit and went through a couple chord progressions til I finalised on these ones, which have been spread around many City Pop tracks. This time, I wanted something a bit more upbeat compare to the slower ones I wrote in the past which were more 'heartfelty' whereas I wanted this one to ignite a dance and feel more vibrant.

September Nights

Composition wise, this is one of my favorites from Sonic Advance from the Gameboy Advance. I love the backing guitar in this, it's amazing how they tackled the GBA's limitation with such complexity. I wanted to do a take on this one in the style of 80s/90s jazz fusion music and give it a sort of 'remastered' feel.

Seymour and Friends

Another quirky Moog number, I wanted to name a piece of music 'Canned Bread' for the longest and I knew something reminiscent of 50's light music was the sound I wanted to go for but then I eventually wanted it to be a Moog piece. This was inspired by Perrey's 'Boys & Girls' which uses a fun little whistle synth as the lead.

I've been wanting to write some funky jazz weather music for a good while lol. This idea just kinda sprung out of nowhere and I just went along with it. Tbh, with 'Weather Channel' stuff, there is no solid genre. After listening to a few mixes, the variety of music used on those stations and the old Ceefax channels were very versatile.

A follow up from the Neo Green Hill Zone remix, I've been meaning to do a remix of this iconic level for a while but couldn't decide on a style to do it in. So eventually I blended the style of my NGHZ remix with a dash of Sonic Mania's.

For some reason, when thinking of a genre to remix 'Final Zone' it was a blend of New Wave and 'Anime Final Fight' kinda music. I wasn't too interested in making another remix for the normal Boss Theme so I decided to blend that theme into here as both themes are very short compare to others in the soundtrack
