This song began as a musical letter written, composed, and sung by Carl to Eclectic Collective. We'd been sniffing around each other's pages, admiring each other's work and collaborators. So Carl reached out with this friendly, uplifting song, as a gift to the band. 
Ken was first in line, adding his awesome, driving drums to give us a heartbeat to build upon. Josh came along next and completed the rhythm section with his trusty four-string fretless bass. Stephen was next up to bat, adding his dynamic raspy guitar, which almost sounds like an electrified fiddle. Next up, Mark added the tasteful VST strings arrangement in the second half of Carl's original composition. 
We had it pretty much sounding done, but wanted to spice it up a bit, so we came up with the idea for a coda. Josh added his bass and synth in the closing section, and Tez came up with the thrilling guitar part, as well. Tez also added the thrilling guitar intro, too. 
Once it was in the can, we asked Tez to mix and produce it for us, which he did in his always expert fashion.
This is the first song EC has done with Carl, but we know it won't be the last. We all admire him for his creativity, proficiency, and prolificacy. His page is worth a stroll, too, as it contains a lot of gems.
Thanks again Carl for the wonderful tribute! And as always, we hope folks enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

       This song I wrote back in 2011 and I wanted a swampy, funky, sexy, soulful, sound to it, just a slow mellow vibe to groove to in a slow dance or something. I was going for that Barry White or Marvin Gaye kind of vibe. I worked hard on the lyrics and tried to capture that first date/first dance kind of chemistry! A little spark in the dark, if you will! Charlie did a great job singing it. I had done a video for it early on but it just wasn't very well done so I remixed the song and produced a new video for it about a weeks ago. I think it sounds and looks way better now. Let me know what you think? Watch the video for a little extra excitation!😂

This song is intended for adults to enjoy, no silly love song here!😂 I was trying to write a "Strangers In The Night" type of song with a funky beat. Nothing personal and no back story for this one, just some Funky Fun for all the Dirty Dancers out there!😂 Remember you can't spell Funky without a little Fun! I started my songwriting career playing in a power trio in the late 80's and early 90's as Singer and Guitarist around London and Essex, England. Moved to Brighton, England in the mid 90's and formed another power trio which became a 4 piece and had some success around the millennium supporting well known bands and playing headline shows around England.

Around this time I met Tony Clarke, best known for producing the Moody Blues and many other great acts. I worked with Tony for over a decade and he taught me the fundamental elements of mixing and producing. Many years later I met Mykel Dunn who ran his own studio in Kent, England. We started writing together and he completed my education in mixing. Myke and I went on to write music for TV shows and adverts and are still great friends and music partners. 

I recently had the absolute pleasure of producing, mixing and playing backing instruments on Ryan Athey's first album 'Next Same Town' which has been successful in it's first few months of release.

The pieces I post here are my own. Written, performed, mixed and produced entirely by myself  in my home studio in East Sussex, England (apart from a couple of numbers in Bandolier which were collaborations with Mykel Dunn). 
I am in my element when creating sound and enjoy experimenting with different styles ranging from Pop, Rock, Folk and Country to Orchestral, Ambient and Electronic. I don't use AI engines at all but It's all music to me and I hope you enjoy what you hear.
