Following a string of vocal house heaters on the label, Ferreck Dawn made his 2021 return to Defected with red-hot track ‘Back Tomorrow’, teaming up with renowned dance vocalist Jem Cooke. The unstoppable release caught the attention of DJs and radio tastemakers internationally, with the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Capital FM’s MistaJam as well as specialists on Triple J and Studio Brussel championing the record from the get-go. Now LP Giobbi, Animal Talk co-owner, producer and synth-warrior goddess, also known for her educational platform FEMMEHOUSE, goes in on remix duties, amplifying Ferreck’s signature chunky sound and vocal stabs. Maintaining her title as piano house queen, intoxicatingly smooth piano chords are balanced with raw percussion. This remix takes an uplifting record to a new level, offering powerful dancefloor sentiment for listeners and designed for pure euphoria.

Born out of a lockdown night when their usual Saturday night plans were off limits, Defected regular Darius Syrossian and South Records boss George Smeddles decided to cook something up for the anticipated return to the club. With just a vocal to work with, they decided to produce something with the 90s, uplifting vibe dancefloors would be needing. Demonstrating the same addictive, dancefloor-ready grooves seen on their previous collabs like ‘Get Toast’ and ‘Blood Orange’, this latest joint venture once again delivers the heat. With its deep organ bassline, playful keys and irresistible 4/4 swing, this record oozes club appeal in a way you can only expect from producers rooted firmly in the scene. Continuing Nu Groove's new era of house excellence, one of Chicago's most revered DJs Jamie 3:26 delivers his debut release on the label with red-hot two tracker 'Live My Life / Feelin' It'. An artist whose exuberance shines through on everything he touches, this Nu Groove EP is no exception, capturing his classic meets contemporary Windy City sound with the signature Jamie 3:26 flare. Teaming up with Rotterdam's Jurgen Bouman on opening track 'Live My Life', this chunky house cut with its free-flowing groove, tough bass and Jamie's mischievous spoken-word vocal captures the energy of a floor in full flow. A more stripped-back affair, 'Feelin' It' goes deeper with soft keys and a lilting beat you can't help but move to, perfect for summertime sets. British house heavyweight and Defected resident Low Steppa returns to DFTD with his latest release 'Dig Deep', joining forces with London-based duo Saison. This new club heater illustrates Low Steppa's evolving dancefloor-ready style with the help of Saison's technical prowess, the all-conquering duo who topped the Beatport Deep House Chart for a staggering six months with track 'Moments'. With their individual niches already carved out, this release combines Low Steppa and Saison's contrasting sounds, materialising in a timeless quality with a firm focus on groove. Warm chords, intricate drums and evocative soulful vocals are blended to masterful effect to create this record, evoking emotion that stays with you long after the music has stopped.

Cutting their teeth on London's underground, Ben Lewis and Josh Ludlow, aka Make A Dance, debut on Classic Music Company with club-inclined three-tracker 'I Need Somebody'. Already supported by the likes of Folamour, Bradley Zero, Cinthie and BBC Radio 1 kingpin Pete Tong, Make A Dance (also the name of the duo's imprint) allows the pair to demonstrate their love for the floor, which is reflected in this swish EP. Title track 'I Need Somebody' leads, followed by the Guilty Pleasures Mix of the cut, sampling the soaring vocal of Kechia Jenkins' 1987 cult hit for two dancefloor-ready heaters. 'Acid Cult' closes out the EP, as warm acidic synths, an elastic bassline and percussive breaks form the backdrop to playfully cut-up news headlines from the second summer of love. A masterclass in artful sampling, this Classic debut is one not to be missed. 2022 is looking bright for Make A Dance.

Australian born DJ and producer Kormak has been making waves on Sydney’s club scene, curating adrenaline filled sets that have gained him more than a few high-profile fans, including Aussie man of the moment Fisher. His last track, ‘Keep On’ featured in Simon Dunmore and Sam Divine’s stand-out b2b at Defected Croatia, and his debut release with DFTD maintains his bumping, bass-driven style of production. The release opens with the title track ‘Love On The Line’, a momentum building record that shows Kormak experimenting with the deeper, dubbier side of house music. By comparison, ‘Feel’ echoes classic house tracks with its vocal, intensified drums and undeniable funk.
