Despite being a relatively short mix, the track selection required a lot of thinking, just like the previous piece I delivered to XLR8R. This one is yet again inspired by the roller coaster of emotions I went through last year, as well as my worldwide travels, and the sadness I feel whilst facing the countless political issues and terrorist attacks that take place all around the globe.

All Day I Dream Podcast 004: YokoO - All Day I Dream Of Peace

I'm happy to finally release my first extended set with you, recorded at StereoBar in Montreal. StereoBar is a club that's quickly jumped onto my shortlist of favorite venues in the world. Beyond the nailing the club fundamentals (sound system, layout, lighting, staff), they feature the "All Night" series where one DJ plays as opener, headliner, and closer. I love this format since it gives me the opportunity to build the energy from scratch and take the night in any direction without constraints.

But more importantly, I get to play for one of the most enthusiastic, supportive crowds that I've ever encountered. The energy from this night was the strongest I've felt in quite some time, certainly my best gig of the last year. Almost everything I threw out there worked, which actually makes me think that I might not have worked hard enough. There are many more sonic landscapes I'd love to explore, so hopefully I can come back again soon and we can take another journey in that special room...

What is going wrong with humanity in this world? We are shocked about the happenings in Aleppo, so broken-hearted for people in Syria and we can’t stand this awful situation of helplessness. 

Together with YokoO, who joins us for this Christmas podcast, we therefore decided to raise money for urgently required medical aid supplies for people in and around Aleppo.

Here's the recording for my DJ set from July 2nd, 2017 at the Katerblau Kiosk, hands down my favorite place to play music in Berlin.  The whole venue is a wonderland of discovery, the staff is extremely kind and hospitable, and I don't think I've played for a more open minded crowd in all of Europe. Longer sets allows you to take your time and be patient with the music, and the mixing.  The slow building journey I had imagined in my mind, was possible to make a reality, and extra time allowed me to experiment as well. This was probably my favorite gig of my entire 2 month Summer Sol Europe Tour. I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I had creating it in the Kiosk.  Thanks to Mira, Britta, Martin, Claudia, Joyce, David, Brett, Toto, Sylvie, Dorin, any other friends I may have forgotten who were there, and especially to all you lovely dancers who joined me on this ride. And so it begins...

We are happy to finally share the first set in the series of The Seekers of Light. It was our first year anniversary at our first year of Amsterdam Dance Event. 

And after a year of running on a fast track we turned our event venue De WesterUnie from 800 to 2500 people. With three rooms, twenty artists and an endless amount of dream.

Sleepless nights and early mornings our family gave everything during the production to create a warm and beautiful energy to welcome our guests and future family. The artists were divine. Performances like we never experienced before.

We are over the moon to start this series with our beloved duo Britta Unders. As they are in our family from the start they could not miss out on this showcase. With the soft melodic sounds of Unders and a strong Kater character of Britta you are always surprised by their next move.. Their set and performance means the world to us. They are friends. They are family. And as we are writing these words, we remember the interaction with the crowd. Priceless and filled with love.

It's been quite a wait for new &ME material here on Keinemusik. But these two new cuts, adding to our catalogue number KM046, sure have been worth waiting for. The EP starts with The Rapture Pt.II and as the title already suggests, it coherently takes up where his last original material had left us, in a stirred state of sweet, harmony-kissed affection. Known as a virtuoso of sound-details, &ME lives up to that reputation, implementing fine synth-elements and temperately rattling percussions, all conjoined by shimmering layers and, of course, an ultimately heart-melting Piano improvisation that at some point will play along to the rhythm of its synthetic brother to a finale that will leave no crowd untouched.

"Solaris" on the flipside adds indeed a futuristic note to the arrangement, opening up with a broken beat and propelling claps. A cut that, as much as its predecessor, is relying on flow and organic shifts rather than forced and peaktime formatted gimmickry, adding a synth arpeggio, white noise, vocal chants and harmonies in a rather subtle way. Nevertheless, it unfolds a compelling strength to heat the dancefloor gradually through its playtime.
