Mixed for Lillithe

My old mac  dieth a death so here's a bit of a kitchen table bash around .   My fingers are not what they were so i play what i can find.  someday I'll probably wind up bashing out a beat with my head on the refrigerator and singing along. I hope you are all well. If you're dead you'll obviously know it's nothing to worry about...                                I woke up this morning or at least I think that I did...I found my medication and I wrestled with the lid....my bathroom mirror is telling me that I'm not half the man I used to be.....

. I've got a hole in my gut I'm really feeling my age, I'm paying the price for my wicked little ways, I was out last night with a woman from the moon, she says that better days are coming and they're coming soon but I ain't half the man I used to be.

When Tom made me hear this music, I immediately thought of singing a text I had written a while ago for a previous song. It felt like the obvious encounter of these words with their music. It is a huge pleasure and honor to be part of this project with two fantastic members of the SC community.

From a large, old quartz crystal
Grown up in a cavity in the depths
Under a lot of pressure, 
Temperature and mineral supply,
32D3, trigonal and trapezoidal,
Perfectly cut spherical 
Two hands it takes to hold the orb

And in front of a candle this ball

The glimpse wanders 
From the surface into the depths
Inside the light is refracting in its rays

That the quartz is rather smoky than rosy ?

Nat came up with this lovely piano track and we let it sit for a while before I finally gave it a try with some words and my take on a melody to start it off. Nat then wrote her half of the lyrics and we harvested this somewhat ultimate ode to love between two soul mates. It accents the journey through failures and disappointment to finally connect with the lasting fulfillment. The happy comfort of finally reaching home.
