Heli is a singer/songwriter who is based in Brisbane, Australia. Her musical style fits in the Indie Dream Rock and Shoegaze genres.

Commencing from the humble beginnings of the all girl grunge band ‘Fuzzbabes’, then continuing to the grunge girls ‘Gravelrash’ (who supported American band Courtney Love and ‘Hole’ on their Australian national tour). Heli then played Latin Jazz with the trio ‘Latin Heart’ plus numerous solo acoustic performances. 

The most recent musical creative project for Heli is with indie/alternate band ‘Helical Sun’, plus playing an acoustic duo set with Cal Crilly (of Alien Virus and Acid World fame). Heli has also collaberated with various Brisbane artists with recording projects.

Heli’s music provides a combination of reverb guitar effects, ambient vocals with a rhythmic undercurrent that bears testament to elements of 1960s garage sounds fused with shoegaze influences.

"Someone Else's Destiny" was recorded at Borough Studios: Clayfield, Brisbane, Australia, with Skritch Trembles (and Jocky Wocky).

Renowned musicologist Dr Stivgobski puts it this way: “The Wild Colonial Savage lives in a cosmic country, in a land with no flag …real savage like … like if Bukowski played rock n roll … beejeezus did I say that!!??  Strewth no!  Its way more psychedelic than that.  You see, not many people know this but Buddha actually danced around the bodhi tree. Need to know more?  Go on, get testy!!”

Wild Colonial Savage currently comprises Liam Hull (Frail Marys), Tony Milner (Squirrel Land, No-V-Bleet), Clare Smith (Acid World, Surly Girls, Vix and the Slick Chix), Eugene Shishkin (Shishkin n Choomby, Eugene & the Egg).  Sometimes other friends sit in for a play like Alex Downs and Conwae  Burrell
