Christie van Zyl, affectionately known as FossilSoul, is a published written and spoken word poet, social entrepreneur, wellness consultant and sangoma (traditional healer). Her work as an artivist has seen her write in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity expression, as well as broader topics covering intersectional & multiple identity.
During 2018 she was featured alongside emerging artists in the exhibitions ‘The Devil Loves When We Loathe Ourselves’, a commentary on the system benefiting from our internal states of self-hate, which opened at 99 Loop Gallery in August 2018, curated by painter Rory Emmet. As well Buhlebezwe Siwani’s exhibition ‘Qab’Imbola’, which featured a video titled ‘Amahubo’ with a backtrack of FossilSoul reciting a poem titled ‘Sizokhungwa Ngani?’, commenting on land, religion and spirituality in the African context, this exhibition opened in October 2018 at the WhatIfTheWorld gallery in Cape Town. 

FossilSoul’s work has been published on several online platforms, as well as an anthology titled ‘Walking the Tightrope: An African LGBTI Anthology’ and most recently in the “Zanele Muholi: Somnyama Ngonyama, Hail the Dark Lioness” book; speaking on reclaiming identity; published by Aperture and released in October 2018. FossilSoul is currently working towards publishing an anthology to celebrate ten years as a poet.

Her latest involvement has been in the ‘Ikhono Lase Natali – Cape town Edition’ which exhibited 25 interpretations of Zanele Muholi’s ‘Somnyama Ngonyama’ Photographic project. This exhibition was housed at the A4 Arts Foundation where Christie has MC’d, recrutited artist, facilitated round talks and assisted with logistical planning.

His third album, "Canciones de Amor y Protesta" is Santero's musical memoir and manifesto bringing together all his vast musical influences, Indigenous Mayan heritage, Afro-Cuban spirituality and revolutionary politics in one ecstatically danceable release. Streaming on all platforms July 11th, 2023.
Santero's sophomore release, El Hijo de Obatala garnered critical acclaim, featured on NPR’s All Things Considered & Latino USA. Santero’s El Hijo De Obatala made several critic’s top 10 lists for best album of 2009 in the Village Voice, SF Weekly & other publications. Santero also won a 2009 SF Weekly Music Award for Best International Artist. In addition, he has released numerous singles and remixes in recent years.

Talented Artist and business Woman extraordinaire, she is a devoted Emcee, Producer and the Creative Director behind Brooklyn-Bronx based record label; Real Phresh Music. Her initial journey started as an intern for D&D and Unique Recording. Moving forward, Incksalonius commenced her mien as one of Hip Hops “real-to-life” lyricists to execute a microphone. As a college student new to the game, in 1999, Incks converted her thoughts into lyrical prose which would manifest into her first self- released EP – “Push.”

The “Push” EP gained amplified responses from the press and both local and international college radio stations. Incks continued to build her foundation by performing at venues such as the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, The Five Spot, Wetlands & many others. As her career progressed, Incks started producing music for local artists and was featured on other projects such as the Okay player Compilation and B-Gyrl.com. In 2003, Incksalonius paired up with Belgian producer Krewcial to appear on “Sky to land” which was highlighted on his “25/8” LP (Vinlylators/BBE). Over time, she collaborated with International Artists such as The Proov, JtotheC, Pan-Afrikans and Trainspotters. In 2005 Incksalonius released “Press Play”. The first single “Rap Music” generated buzz enough to take Incksalonius overseas on tour in Canada, Belgium and the Netherlands with The Proov who performed at venues such as Paradiso & Bitterzoet.

In 2006 Incksalonius became the Founder of Real Phresh Music along with founding partner Silent Someone. As the founder of Real Phresh Music, Incks has made her innovative mark in the progressive movement of Hip-Hop music. In working with Silent Someone, she has signed Artists such as Jamma Wun and Rough D.R.A.F.T. After the release of several projects, Incksalonius then released her first EP entitled “Grown Another Day” in 2008. The lead single “Soul forever” and “Teach the kids” gained the attention of International radio stations and promoters.

To date, Incksalonius has released new singles “Baptizm”, “Gettin’ my fingers dirty” and featured on Belgian Soul Singer; JtotheC’s “Sweet Rendezvous”. With a new project in the works along with launching a new enrichment program for teenagers in New York City, expect a skillful piece of work to drop again over the summer.

Mike Howe is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and recording artist. Mike has been nominated in the ZMR Awards as voted by broadcasters worldwide for each of his 3 albums, starting with Best New Artist in 2009 for "Time Stands Still", and Best Acoustic Instrumental Album for his follow up album "Round River (2010) and again for his third album "Island Of Anywhere" (2011).
