The Storm is the third single from the debut EP, Know Who I Am. This song was inspired by a quote I read, "Fate whispered to the warrior - You can not withstand the storm - The warrior shouted back - I am the storm." At that period in my life, the quote really resonated with me. I had recently returned home from an Army deployment to a father recently diagnosed with cancer. I became his primary caregiver. He passed just a few months later, the day before my birthday, and the day my wife, who was 7 months pregnant with our son, and I were moving into a new home. A couple months later my son was born. I felt like I fate was testing my merit with a lot of heavy life events all at once; telling me I couldn't withstand the storm. It was a rollercoaster. I was doubting myself but trying my best. I wanted to retreat into my vices, but I somehow managed to stay calm and persevere. I shouted back to fate, "I am the storm." It was out of those trials and tribulations that The Storm was born.
