As an ensemble the crew have been selecting the finest underground electronic music on their acclaimed SlothBoogie.com website for well over a decade.

In that time they’ve been an influential driving force in the discovery of new talent as well as continued supporters of the best artists in the underground scene."

"Our usual SlothBoogie radio shows highlight the latest new music we discover or get sent which invariably tends to be pretty pumping stuff mixed together with a dancefloor in mind. So every now and then me and Danny like to collaborate on a special one off concept mix that breaks away from that format and lets us zone in on a mood or feeling. A few years back we were in the midst of a crazy heat wave in the UK and made a Heatwave Refreshment mix to enjoy whilst London went on a full melt down. Fast forward to 2022 and we wanted to do something really special again for Stan Ray that would be full of easy going mellow and warming sounds to serve as a much needed mood booster."

Dedicating his all to House Music while being active in basically all fields the scene has to over, it’s Madrilenian artist Rafa Santos, who has become a mainstay as well as a constant in the ever-changing (local) electronic music domain. Turning the great plan into reality Rafa founded a label, Mate, to serve House Music demands as well as to contribute classy as well as classic music at the same time. However, since Rafa not only runs a label, works as a producer or as a DJ he also teaches at SAE what he’s learnt about music and as well as values to others. So basically Rafa Santos is the ambassador of the scene at so many levels and probably pushing the boundaries to a more positive side. Shortly before the release of Mate’s 5th anniversary, a compilation mixed and compiled by the label boss himself, Rafa speaks about his routines, teaching and of course music. Additionally the artist comes up with a new and 150th edition of the art:cast series.

Spring time haze, a follow on from the winter warmers mix we did for you last time. 

It’s something that ebbs and flows softly, giving off that fresh optimism of a new season but nostalgic still. Lots of light bokeh and vintage tones if it was put to film, hah! I also wanted to do a mix that felt timeless, making it re-listenable and ultimately very enjoyable tone-wise.

Bugsy hails from Milan where he is resident and co-host of the brilliant
Take It Easy club night which brings many of the finest house DJ’s to the
city and remains packed week in and week out.  With his featured producers
Astroloop at his side Bugsy has come up with a quality debut loaded with
fat, low-slung deep beats and Detroit-inspired grooves for Freerange
entitled the Svegsy EP.
The lead track sets the mood with mid-tempo loping beats that have
‘Freerange’ written all over them.  We can’t get enough of the simple yet
satisfying warm-up vibe which oozes from this track.  Understated, warm
and relaxed yet with a bump and grunt which calls you to the dancefloor.
A2 is a track entitled New Vision where we find a straighter groove
underpinned by a restless, pulsing, analogue bass and shifting block
chords. With it’s heads down attitude and simple, rolling arrangement this
is Jimpster’s personal favourite for banging on a big system.
Flip over for the aptly titled Ghost Song.  Here we get off-kilter vocals
and fleeting glimpses of a melody which then disappear into the ether. All
in all a slightly surreal yet groove-heavy track which has a charm of it’s
own.
Rounding off the EP we have Chicago house legend Boo Williams on the remix
of Ghost Song, where he takes a minimal approach with a hint of acid but
keeping his soulful touch. Enjoy!
