Selfish Soliloquy is a Modern Indie Blues Singer/Songwriter that dabbles in various stringed instruments. 
Having grown up performing in school choirs from 3rd grade until graduating high school, as well as volunteering at two Southern California Renaissance Festivals, S.S. has always had a passion for performance art. S.S. began songwriting in grade school as a hobby. As she entered middle and high school, she became influenced by artists such as Amanda Fucking Palmer (of The Dresden Dolls and The Grand Theft Orchestra), Regina Spektor, Green Day, Dream Theatre and an eclectic variety of other musicians and bands.
in spring 2012, S.S. left the family home to live in Hollywood with her then-boyfriend and his parents. Despite his parents being active in the independent music business, S.S. had lost her creative drive. Life led her away from Los Angeles and into homelessness. S.S. went on to spend the next several years in tangenting, toxic relationships as well as house hopping, eventually S.S. turned to substance abuse - all common themes in her work. 
At the end of the Summer of 2018, S.S. teamed up with For the Sake of Science, who encouraged her to pick up the pen (not the pookie,) and get back to the grind. 
Since then, she has composed over two albums worth of content. Much has been posted acapella as she works out accompaniment - S.S. composes rudimentary background music, but encourages other artists to put their own spin on her work - with permission, of course.

Goal-Wise, S.S. does not hope to attain "Fame," as she knows popularity comes woth censorship. She does not encourage minors to listen to her work, rather stating "If you understand it - you're old enough. If your parents didn't want you to understand it, they should have raised you better."
S.S. hopes to be one of many seeds in the Modern Indie Blues movement, and hopes her work will aid the future of destigmatizing mental illness and subsequent self medication leading to substance abuse. 

When not couch-surfing and composing her own work or aiding other musicians, S.S. enjoys taking new spins on her favorite songs by making Ukulele Covers, which she is compiling into "Under Cover - A Ukulele Anthology."
