Night School Ep. 80 (Guest Speaker: Trill Manny)

On Episode 81 of the Night School Series, Mike is joined by Dorchester-native, Providence, RI based singer Derek Tyler. 

Derek sits down with Mike to discuss a variety of topics, including his early years as a singer in his church, and how he began making videos of himself singing various covers to songs by likes of Bobby Caldwell, Drake, Wizkid, amongst others. Derek also shares how he started working with artists in the Boston area (such as Clark D) before he made his move to Providence RI. Additionally, Derek and Mike discuss the differences and similarities between Providence and Boston, both musically and culturally. 

Derek & Mike also have a lengthy discuss about basketball, the state of the NBA’s biggest superstars, including James Harden, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and phenom Victor Wembanyama, as well as how their favorite team, the Boston Celtics, can possibly improve and get over the hump.
