To close out the month of September we have an exceptional mix from a very skilled DJ and natural born artist: Miss I. Growing up she was influenced by her father- “.. he kept a collection of cassettes, recording tapes, and CD’s at home. Music was always prevalent throughout my whole life,” she says. Growing up in a family of artists, Ioana also learned to play the piano in her early years. Her idea of inspiration? “My state of mind from that very moment, it is always changing.”

About thirteen years ago she started her own vinyl collection after falling in love with music, and shortly after had her first gig as a DJ. But her drive didn’t stop there.. four years ago she opened her very own record shop “Misbits” in Bucharest, Romania. The story behind the shop? She tells us, “Everything came with the desire of having a record shop in my own town. The ability to share my devotion for music with people who live for the same passion.”

Favorite record in her bag? “My Love Turns to Liquid” by Dream 2 Science. Favorite record label of the moment? “Hmmm, I would have to say Metereze (Raresh’s label) because I really enjoy all eight of their releases. Hobbies aside from music? “I love playing sports. In the winter: snowboarding, in the summer: wakeboarding, and my newest interest: kiteboarding!”

Lastly, we asked what fans can expect from her next, to which she replied, “My fans can expect to continue being surprised with every mix that I make. Although sometimes, it also depends on the type of event I am playing, I aspire to take them with me in my journey and show them diverse ways to perceive the flow of the tracks I play."

Hellu ladies and gents. It’s time for another edition of our mix series. So let’s jump on the OUFFFCAST train! To guide us on our musical journey we’re proud to present one of Portugal’s finest selectors - Manata.

A well known face in the Portuguese underground scene, Manata is a dedicated record collector with a penchant for mixing the old with the new. Back in the 2014 he won the competition of the Clube de Criativos de Portugal, together with Bloop Recordings. From then on Manata has been on a steady rise, having played in clubs and at parties all across the country, carefully honing his craft and diligently adding to his ever-increasing record collection.

In 2019 he released his first track on one of Berlin’s freshest up-and-coming labels Kaizenrecordsberlin. In the same year, he also went on to launch his very own vinyl only label Nugs On Board, which now boasts an impressive roster of producers and remixers such as Robbenspierre, Dormald, Tiago Marques, Roberto Manolio, Phil Evans, Giammarco Orsini and Jacobo Lantini.
