"Wait" 2023
Final composition for Intro to Creative Sound Processes.  This composition was voted into the Binghamton Student Film Show.  All sounds were recorded or created by me.
Sounds:
- Zoom recording of a neon sign
- iPhone voice memo recording of the outdoors in the Hudson Valley at night during the summer
- Contact microphone recording of me "playing" the bass (I used forks, spoons, and chopsticks in the strings and then repeatedly hit my bass over and over again.  I also used my violin bow to bow the bass strings)
- Contact microphone recording of me "playing" the guitar (Similar to the bass I used forks, spoons, and chopsticks in the strings and used my slide to get weird tones)
- Contact mic recording of my dads espresso machine
- iPhone voice memo recording of a pedestrian crossing signal saying "wait" in Binghamton, NY
- Contact recording of my dorm microfridge
- iPhone voice memo recording of my dad on the skid steer at a job site
(Some of these samples were used twice but were manipulated differently)

Theo and I have worked on countless music projects over the past 40 years. I have learned a lot from his stubborn and headstrong views and methods of recording and mixing music. His influence on my soundscapes is immense. In 2014 we both enjoyed working on “Where Do We Go From Here?” (2014 - Etched Traumas - ET77) which became also part of the soundtrack of Australian short movie “Grid Face”. Pieces for acoustic guitar and loop station.

In 2017 I worked on a sequel, the guitar suite "Licht". 
“Epitaph (for TC)” is originally a demo version of one of the pieces but unused in the “Licht” version as it appeared on CD (2018 “LIght / Well” - Thirsty Leaves Music - TLM019). Due to Theo’s health problems it was not possible to collaborate on this project but he appreciated the sober minimal guitar pieces for what they were.

I will remember Theo with great respect for the rest of my life.

Epitaph (for TC)

Ingvar Tautra https://soundcloud.com/agnosturaelwar recently posted a group of instrumental tracks for open collaboration. One of them was a charming solo guitar that really spoke to me, but also seemed a little lonely up there all by itself. It is the first thing you will hear. I added to it only minimally, a bass and two guitars.

Thanks for the ride, Ingvar. It was fun!
