Newtowns spreading through the empty lands of suburbia share the sense of alienation and uneasiness from the characteristic, tightly controlled landscapes and architectural looks -
twelve participants each went through a process of voluntarily collecting images of the newtown environments and compiled together corresponding soundscapes by association, providing free sonic interpretations of suburban atmospheres of South Korea.

교외의 빈 땅을 채워나가는 뉴타운들은 특유의 숨막힐듯 짜여진 조경과 건축물에서 비롯된 이질감과 스산함을 공유한다. 이를 포착한 이미지들을 자발적으로 수집하고 그 아스팔트 계곡에 흐르는 사운드스케이프를 믹스의 형태로 엮어내는 과정을 거쳐, 열두 명의 참가자들은 남한의 교외적 정서를 각자의 관점에서 자유롭게 해석한다.

시간이 멈춘 교외의 한 신도시 곳곳을 사진으로 찍어 인체의 항상성 유지에 최적화된, 단조로운 교외 도시의 시스템을 탐사한다. 손님이 없는 아울렛 매장 / 통행이 뜸한 8차선 도로 / 너른 풀밭에 소풍을 나온 가족 / 고층 아파트 밀집 구역 바깥의 초록으로 가득한 근교 농지.
