pov: you just got out of a relationship and you're walking around with your earbuds in, trying to ignore the world for a little. After a while you notice that it's getting darker and that the sun was hidden by the never-ending clouds in the sky. You start to head back home when you pass by your best friend's house. You stop walking and stare at the house, observing every detail of it as it's bursting with life due to the loud music that's being played inside. You almost went to that party, but you never were a fan of being in a crowded room with people who don't even care who you are. Once you snap out of your trance, you consider possibly walking in just to say hi but decide against it as you probably would have a difficult time leaving since your best friend would beg you to stay. That was until you notice your best friend had just stepped outside but as you get closer you notice they aren't alone. They were making out with someone but you couldn't quite make out who it was but with closer inspection, you realize that they are making out with your ex. The one you just broke up with. It feels as though you can't breathe and to make things worse, it starts pouring down. The two break apart when they heard the rain and your best friend looks around in awe at the peacefulness of it all, until they noticed someone staring at them. You and your best friends eyes lock and they gasped when they finally recognized who you were. You're just staring in shock, the rain soaking you to the bone. You can't tell if you're crying or if it's just the rain that's streaming down your face. Before you're friend could say anything, you start walking away as though that's all your body can do at the moment. You don't know where your feet are taking you but they can't seem to stop. Vaguely, you register that you are heading towards your house. With everything that just happened, you don't realize that you're still listening to music but it just sounds like background noise as your mind is elsewhere. You guess that's what you get for trying to avoid your problems
