Clark Davis is back on Connect Four again, this time with 2 original tracks and 2 remixes of the title track, Cindy & Jack. Remixes courtesy of Spanish cool guy Pablo Bolivar and Danish upcoming mastermind Denis Horvat.

Hamburg’s Davis has been crafting his own shifty Tech-house weapons since 2008 on labels likes Affin and Third Wave. His sound is deep yet propulsive and never relies on a single standard sound, instead Davis seems to make even the familiar sound fresh. Davis dug deep in his studio and came out with 2 very dubby tracks that works super well.

Pablo Bolivar turned the title track into a pure summer sex track, and Denis Horvat did a lot of twists and turns and delivered a very cool version of the title track too.

Massive remix package alert!!
Whilst randomly flicking through his old hardrive (or more likely just Googling
himself!) Manuel Tur hit upon a selection of remixes that have been made of his
music over the years and realized that, as well as many of them having gone
criminally under the radar, many are absolutely solid gold and all of them
deserve to be put together one LP for all to enjoy.  The artists involved reads
like a veritable who’s who of underground house and techno with vintage names
like Pepe Bradock, Ian Pooley and Isolée rubbing shoulders with young upstarts
like Ugly Drums and Damiano von Erckert. Throw in interpretations from Stimming,
Jimpster, Arto Mwambe, Tuff City Kids, Will Saul and King Britt and you already
know this is going to make for some very special club music.  For those who are
familiar with these gems from first time around we wanted to make sure you had
some brand new and exclusive music to get your teeth into so added three
brilliant remixes of tracks from Manuel’s latest LP Es Cub to the package.
As far as the exclusives are concerned, all three names need little by way of
introduction, being Poker Flat honcho Steve Bug, Feel and One Track founder John
Daly and Innervisions and Pets regular Aera. Steve Bug’s Remix of Ara Anam sees
him in classic Bug mode with clipped beats, simple stabs and that warmth of
production that makes everything he does work so nicely in the club.  John Daly
iditches his more cosmic, spaced out deep house sound for a straight up dub
techno onslaught which while maybe not your usual Freerange fare should still
impress and will come into it’s own when played loud in a dark, smokey former
power station for example!  Aera gives us his spin on Agrafena, a twisted and
edgy track with crazy synths and stripped back beats taking us on a turbulent
magic carpet ride into the future. Or something like that.  And elsewhere you
still have relatively undiscovered beauties from Tuff City Kids who bring the
rave vibes with acid lines rubbing shoulders with piano stabs.  And Ian Pooley’s
remix of Will Be Mine which everyone at the label including Jimpster and Manuel
Tur can’t believe they haven’t been playing out on a weekly basis and have
discovered it properly for the first time.  King Britt brings sublime deepness
and a touch of melancholy to the package showing why he is a genuine master when
it comes to emotive, late night house music.  And not forgetting Homewreckers,
fellow Ruhr Valley cohorts of Manuel’s and an inventive and fresh production
outfit who may not be too prolific but deliver perfect goods every time.
So we hope you love this collection of tracks as much as we’ve enjoyed
rediscovering them.  We’re proud to be presenting music which whilst some if it
may date back over seven years, still sounds as relevant today as on first
release.

Stavroz managed to create a wholesome, comforting soundtrack for a place, which no words can describe. Take a rest, lay down, close your eyes and listen to a story told in an orchestral fashion, with such profession and ear for details like Luise never heard before. We are deeply impressed and thankful alike to be able to present this musical masterpiece. A heartly welcome to Stavroz, everyone.

Sometimes in life you find yourselves at a point where you need to walk away and leave something behind if you ever want to go back to it. Other paths must be walked, other experiences learnt from to give you a fresh view of where you’ve come from. In that sense going back to the roots, rediscovering their past with fresh eyes, is the concept behind Richard Dorfmeister & Rupert Huber’s new Tosca album, ‘Going Going Going’.

For over two decades and several albums Tosca has served as a vehicle for Richard and Rupert to express their personal moods and impressions, each release holding up a mirror to their inner lives. Now though after ten albums the journey has come full circle and once again they’ve returned to the kind of instrumental tracks, full of deep beats and dubbed out textures that made Tosca’s name.

“It just feels good to come back to our original sound,“ says Rupert Huber. “After experimenting with song structures and vocal collaborations on the last album (2014’s “Outta Here”), we were looking at how we could make a logical progression and we realized that our real strength lay in TOSCA’s roots, we just has to update that sound into something that made sense in 2017.”

The result is ‘Going Going Going’, an album that Tosca fans will immediately recognize and yet one that doesn’t just trade on former glories. Hitting the ground running opening track ‘Import Export’ sounds like a Lee Scratch Perry version of a Ennio Morricone soundtrack, a motif reoccurs throughout the album, most notably on ‘Dr Dings’, their reinterpretation of America’s classic ‘Horse With No Name’.

Like the best of Tosca’s output though ‘Going Going Going’ denies easy catergorsation taking in everything from the uneasy listening of ‘Hausner’ to excursions into House (‘Wotan’), Ambient Electronica (‘Olympia), Funk (‘Loveboat’) and beyond. Still despite an almost overabundance of ideas, in the more than capable hands of these two pioneers the result is a complex yet coherent and confident album that stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of their storied back catalogue.

Delving into the realms of Slow- and DeepHouse with a warm organic feel and heavy use of multi-layered disco loops, twanging guitar sounds and carefully transformed vocal lines each and every tune contained here speaks of a deep and heartfelt love for melody, soul and romance – a tender and carressing attitude that's essential for the work of the Berlin-based producer these days.

The sound of Rampue in 2013 is not only about working intimate late night dancefloors - it's about telling love stories able to stand the test of time, it's about holding hands, breathing fresh, unpolluted air and, most of all, a unique, individual and fully shaped musical language that has matured in and emerged from Rampues studio desk throughout the past years.

No matter if it's the EPs title track „Mama Was A Progrocker“, equally playful productions like „Thats“ and „Katz Und Maus“ or the epic, string-loaden closing tune „Find Someone“ - all tunes are perfectly crafted and highly detailed masterpieces, sculpted from expertly picked ingredients that fall into place just right.

Ijsbrand & Gert had always wanted to create balkan inspired music, and hence came the duo Stavroz. Beyond just sharing the same musical tastes, these two buddies bond over both being sound engineers (live for Ijs, studio for Gert), which makes them real "goldsmiths" behind each and every production (such can be seen in this short clip which presents their title 'The Ginning'). 
Their music is imprinted with original inspirations while keeping to a jazzy/burlesque influence, leaving little to be left displeased. The bridge, so it seems, borderlines between minimal and jazz-house.

The first title of the EP, 'The Ginning' is constructed around guitarist, Max Honckelinx. The track’s instrumental harmony is skilfully constructed by the duo as they borderline minimal and deep house.

The second original title of the EP, 'The Finishing' is merely a dialogue between a rhythmic stratospheric universe and the sax of Nathan Daems, well preserved from the first studio recording. The end result leaves us with 8 minutes of lyricism soaked in sophistication and technicality.

In regards to the remixes, Felkon, who has been presented several times before on the Délicieuse, takes on 'The Ginning' by including vocals which create a more dance-like ambiance. 
Britta Arnold, a legendary pioneer from Bar 25 and Katerholzig, worked on 'The Ginning' as well with Sascha Cawa. They delivered a version more obscure yet wickedly effective.

As for the remixes of 'The Finishing', Powel continues to captivate us while executing his deep and melancholic twists. He entirely redesigns the piece’s structure by retiring the "voice" of the sax. 
And then there’s our man, Viken Arman, who spins his version of 'The Finishing' by refiguring the rhythm pattern and adding a new dimension to the bass.
