PHENAGEN, founded by Phil Glasses in 2010, is focused on an industrial rock concept, blending many legendary sounds, familiar to fans of KILLING JOKE, EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN, RAMMSTEIN, & SEX PISTOLS.

This ONE-MAN-ARMY showcases a very-powerful, straight-forward rock sound, slightly enhanced by industrial post-production, that leaves each listener wanting more. 

The latest album enlisted World-Renowned Producer Darian Rundall, and features an all-star line up of musicians: SUICIDAL TENDENCIES-guitarist Mike Clark, PENNYWISE-bassist Randy Bradbury, GEEZER BUTLER-drummer GARY FERGUSON, and 3RD STRIKE-guitarist Todd Deguchi.

PHENAGEN have proudly shared the stage with Thee Michelle Gun Elephant (Japan), Girlschools (UK), Danko Jones (Canada) and The Bronx (USA) and more..

Currently hard at work on the follow-up album in Hermosa Beach, California, PHENAGEN incorporates more of a political approach this time around, collaborating on their military-esque concept with Producer Darian Rundall once again.

Due out this Spring, PHENAGEN will be embarking on a 2013 World Tour in support of the new album, so keep your eyes open..

Grammy nominee, Ben O’Neill writes songs that seem at once as fresh as a new love and as familiar as an old friend. Mining essential elements from wordsmiths Bob Dylan and Jason Isbell and melodic masters Paul Simon and Duke Ellington, O’Neill crafts an ecosystem diverse enough to include a clever turn of phrase and a heartfelt prayer, a soaring falsetto and a searing guitar solo, an earthy groove and a heavenly contrast of harmony.
Years of being a hired gun behind the likes of John Legend, Common, Jill Scott and others adds a unique gloss to the raw sincerity of the performances. As soon as the songs on Salt call to mind the forlorn honesty of Ryan Adams or the propulsive riffs of Tom Petty, a lyric takes a turn to an uncommon insight or a melody rises to an unexpected conclusion and reminds the listener that they’re in unexplored territory; territory where O’Neill is constantly looking for new ways to challenge himself, the listener and the definition of American Songwriter.

Kalle Bergdahl has been a familiar face in his hometown music scene for many years. But it is only now that he gives out music entirely in his own name. The first single “Roadhouse” will be released on the 26th of February and will be followed by another, "The Rafter", in March. The debut album "Under The Gun" will be released in April.

Punk, garage rock and pop bands marked the teenage years. But it was first as the artistic alter ego "Lai North", he found a creative valve that felt right. It was then about stripped-down music in a classical singer/songwriter style. He released the EP "Burning Fort" in 2013 and toured extensively.

He now wants to continue building on what he started as Lai North, but as Kalle Bergdahl he wants to do everything bigger, more beautiful and grand.

-	If we were to compare it's now more about Springsteen, Pearl Jam and U2, he says.

Kalle Bergdahl was born just south of Stockholm in 1985, but soon moved further north. There he developed a big love and a strong relationship with nature. He got an education and trained and worked as a wilderness and fishing guide in the Scandinavian mountains. He took the opportunity to travel to different parts of the world in the low season.

-	The album is very much about restlessness, which is the general feeling. I’m always on the run, on my way to something. Except when I write or play. And when I go fishing. Then I’m calm. 

It's music to let the soul rest in, gently undulated and with clear, distinct melodies. Kalle Bergdahl´s voice spans between the powerful and the restrained.

“Under The Gun” was recorded in the fall of 2015 in Boomtown Studios in Borlänge and Gamla Elverket as well as Bergstenska Art Collective in Falun, in the Dalarna region of Sweden. 
Kalle Bergdahl stands for production itself and he has worked with recording engineer Erik Berglund (Good Harvest, David Rönnegård). The album is mixed by Jakob Grundtman (Daniel Norgren, The Tallest Man on Earth).

A  fusion between LMFAO, Cindy Lauper, Machine Gun Kelly and Trinidad James is best when describing Hip Hop’s newest rap sensation PuzzL. This funky, eclectic ratchet 19 year old rapper is stepping over names and claiming her spot in the game.
 
Discovering her musical talents at the age of 11, PuzzL drew her inspiration from some of the most powerful and popular females in the music industry at that time such as: Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopez, Destiny's child, Lil Kim and Foxy Brown. She learned to incorporate their familiar sounds into her own unique flow; fusing elements of POP, R&B and Rap. 

Since then, PuzzL has mastered her own sound and technique; placing her in a wide open lane that has critics in the Hip Hop community stunned as to who she is and where she came from.
Although it may be easy to assume she’s a “white female rapper” PuzzL has NO ISSUE letting you know who she is and that she’s (Number 1, a Hot rapper- no female) and a proud African American and Caucasian mixed chick.  Her “black side” allows her to say whatever she wants and her “white side” allows her to say whatever she wants lol. 

Her universal sound is definitely a breath of fresh air. PuzzL is wholeheartedly brining the female MC rap game back by spazzin’ on tracks from some of the industry’s hottest producers such as Q. Dizzy of Ruff Ryders & protégé of Swizz Beats, Atlanta Producer Daredevil (whose produced tracks for Waka Flocka, Future,  Yo Gotti, YC and many more.

PuzzL is currently working on debut EP entitled Puzzlizm featuring hit singles “Trippy” and “6’4” (a remake of the late Eazy-E’s classic old school car anthem 64).  Project is slated to release August 4th 2013.

Bio

Dick Jones 

Born in 1970 in Jonquière, Jean-Michel Lapointe (a.k.a. Dick Jones) starting violin studies at the age of five. A born musician, at the age of 19 he entered Trebas Institute to study sound engineering, and since then he’s used his talents as an audio engineer to put his inspiration as a composer into concrete form in an impressive number of projects.

Just out of Trebas, he joined forces with Daniel Coulombe (B52’s, Indochine), who introduced him to the milieu of professional music at the Capture Digitale studio, and while there he helped shape the musical identity Radio-Énergie. Since then he’s involved himself in both personal projects (Couch Potatoes, Monitor) and professional ones (advertising music, DJing, remix). He also collaborates with local artists as co-producer (Éric Lapointe, Stefie Shock, Dubmatique), and has remixed a number of house-music artists of all nationalities.

It’s especially in his capacity as leader and music director of the Couch Potatoes that Jean-Michel has acquired great stage and touring experience, which includes a cross-Canada tour that took him from Halifax to Vancouver, appearances at the FrancoFolies de Montréal, at the Festival d’Été de Québec, at Bal en Blanc, at the Black & Blue Festival and at the Montreal Highlights Festival. He has also played in Europe and in the U.S. for events associated with Cirque du Soleil and been a DJ for a number of other Cirque evenings. More recently he’s been able to demonstrate the musical maturity he’s acquired over the years as producer and composer with the collective Monitor, developing the deep house sound that brings happiness to dancefloor regulars around the world.


Vig Vega

André Deraîche (a.k.a. Vig Vega) was born in Montreal in 1977 and grew up there. A big fan of rap from his earliest years, he yearned to be a writer and rapper, eventually doing collegiate studies in literature and poetry, and in 1997 earned a Diploma of Collegial Studies at Collège Maisonneuve. Always the writer, he looked for composer-partners capable of creating soundtracks on which his creativity could crystallize.

In 1999 he partnered with producer-rapper Waatu the Watcher, which provided him with valuable experience in the sphere of performing. Together they founded the collective Verberserker, still active on the underground scene, as evidenced by their recent collaborations with different international artists. In 2007 they made the acquaintance of Pierre-Yves Thériault, and they quickly collaborated on a variety of projects for the Chillin’ H label. He appears on the EP, on among other tracks the song “Father Figure” alongside Akil the MC (Jurassic 5) and Pierre-Yves. He also appears on the video of the single “Maraudeurs de Minuit” (produced by DJ Ophilo, featuring Ze Lyricist), soon to be released.


El Blairou

Born in 1986 in Quebec City, Pierre-Yves Thériault (a.k.a. El Blairou) began learning piano at the age of seven at the Arquemuse music school. After four years of training in the Université Laval piano program, he devoted himself to the electric guitar for the following five years, and his passion for the instrument led him to classical guitar studies at the Troubadour music school, and later – in both classical and electric jazz guitar  – at Cégep de Ste-Foy, where he earned a double Diploma of Collegial Studies in Music / Social Sciences in 2009. He next earned an Attestation of Collegial Studies at Campus Notre-Dame-De-Foy in recording and soundtracks, in 2009-2010. In the summer of 2010 he was accepted at Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music.


In 2011, based on four of his original compositions, he produced a hip-hop EP on the Chillin’ H label. The EP was done with the collaboration of rap artists recognized worldwide: Sen Dog (Cypress Hill), Vyz (The Literates), King T (The Likwit Crew, 1st Generation), Shade Sheist, Eddie Kane Jr. and Akil The MC (Jurassic 5). The whole thing was mixed at Mixart Studio in Montreal by Mathieu Dandurand and mastered at Sterling Sound in New York with Tom Coyne.



Delta City Tigers

Nouvelle Cuisine Records is extremely proud to present Prime Directives, the first album by The Delta City Tigers.

A result of the union of Dick Jones, Vig Vega and El Blairou, this retro-futurist SoundSystem brings together the talents and influences of three generations of local artists. Leveraging the long experience of Jean-Michel Lapointe (a.k.a. Dick Jones) on the Montreal electro scene (Couch Potatoes, Monitor), the trio is developing a sound resolutely oriented towards the future.

DCT melds electro, house and hip-hop musics with the help of catchy refrains, complex melodies and machine-gun raps. In Prime Directives, the band seeks to draw the listener into a parallel dystopic world through a sound as robotized as it is moving, a musical universe without equal made up of exotic destinations and familiar yet barely recognizable places.

DCT’s mission is to launch the listener towards the infinity of the musical cosmos. Finding new life every time they put pen to paper, they strive to capture stories, moments and emotions in a way that will make them endure, dedicating the results of their inspiration to the pleasure and total escape of their listeners.
