This morning, I am blissfully spending my time in the company of Swedish composer and pianist Matti Bye, who first appeared on these pages back in 2017 with a video that I premiered titled Melt. Having scored more than a few films and being awarded Sweden’s prestigious Guldbaggen for Best Original Music for Faro, Bye knows exactly how to paint deep atmospheres full of mystery and awe. Listening to his latest album for my beloved Denovali, I am transported into a shadowy speakeasy full of jazzy notes and curling smoke. I find myself comfortably sitting in a corner, sipping on Glenfarclas while Matti plays the piano, just for me. Capri Clouds is the third album in the trilogy, which began with Bethanien (2020) and This Forgotten Land (2020), and until this one drops later in the spring of this year, you may want to start your journey there. All showcase somewhat nostalgic, slightly haunting and serene imagery, barely jazzy, neo-classic, and lo-fi. Today, I am premiering the title track for you, which I hope you enjoy… rain, birds, a bit of chit-chat and all…

Inspired by a photograph I took in Bristol, England of an abandoned shop that still had the sign, 'Pastimes'.
Pastimes is a collection of guitar based progressive rock music and a couple of instrumentals recorded from early 2019 to early 2021 and late 2022.

En esta percepción de la realidad a través de nuestros sentidos se nos ha inducido en un sueño de dualidad existente la cual tiene El Uno que es indivisible como matriz. El sol y la
luna son un claro ejemplo de dualidad; día y noche, luz y oscuridad, bien y el mal, una balanza eterna sin interrupción. De manera armónica modela el mundo en el que vivimos, pero más allá de esta ilusión creada para nuestros sentidos, nos queda a nosotros encontrar esa matriz y unificarla para convertirnos en El Uno, en el ser. En este mundo ilusorio llamado sueño se encuentran las Cecaelias que guían y ayudan al observador de la experiencia a despertar del encantamiento del sueño, a encontrarse a sí mismo, a ser, unificar . Ahí es cuando el guerrero conquista el templo y se quita la ilusión de separaciones y dualidad; se da cuenta que todo es uno y en el uno están todos.

Our senses creates the perception of reality, in a dream we are induced in the existing duality, in which The One that is indivisible from the matrix. The sun and the moon are a clear example of duality; day and night, light and darkness, good and evil. An eternal and uninterrupted balance that harmoniously models the world in which we live, but beyond this illusion created for our senses. In this illusory world called dream, there are Cecaelias that guide and help the observer of the experience to wake up from the enchantment of the dream, to find himself, to be, to unify. That is when the warrior conquers the temple and removes himself from the illusion of separations and duality and realizes that everything is one and in The One everyone is.

The world of unexpected, intimate and new music.
Ethnos + chaos = the combination of two fundamental substances, create the world of music in a variety of native melodies, rythmos.
The name is original, outstanding and authentic at the same time.
DakhaBrakha means "give/take" in the old Ukrainian language.

DakhaBrakha was created in 2004 at the Kyiv Center of Contemporary Art "DAKH" by the avant-garde theatre director -- Vladyslav Troitskiy. Theatre work has left its mark on the band performances -- their shows have never been staged without the scenic effects.
Having experimented with Ukrainian folk music, the band has added rhythms of the surrounding world into their music, thus creating bright, unique and unforgettable image of DakhaBrakha.
