"Twirling Dance" depicts a scene wherein a young woman dances outside near a lake, clad in a glowing blue dress. A glow of celestial cerulean pervades the environment.

The woman dances ever more joyfully until finally dancing upon the lake itself. Her dancing kicks the water up, which slows in time and coalesces into globules as if set free from the pull of gravity. 

As her dancing becomes ever more jubilant, the woman suddenly freezes in place, as if a statue.

This piece for strings was based on an old piano sketch that I wrote over a decade ago, and then orchestrated many years later.  String quintet (2 violins, viola, cello, bass).
