This is an old recording from my time as student. I’ve used at least two of the main themes in this piece in other places as sometimes it takes a little while for music to ‘land’ and find a proper home.  Composed and conducted by Keir C. Here is the News!

Music for an audio book project. The park is quiet and calm but something is waiting for the sun to set before it comes out to hunt. Go home before dark and don’t be out alone! The music needed to convey a sense menace and an approaching threat. Perhaps a hint of Jerry Goldsmith along the way with the melody played by a piano. Composed and performed by Keir Crawley.

The Park - Part 1

(???) steps into Sector 9. The threshold is crossed. The sector stretches wide. It is mostly silent, but the nexus whirs — it always whirs. Perhaps it is the system trying to communicate. Perhaps there are spectres, speaking through the nexus’ hum. Or maybe these are just my delusions. Move with caution, (???). The sector is watching. N84 is watching.

Mr Crawley Revises... The Elements of Music (EDEXCEL 9-1 GCSE Music)

The invite was (now postponed owing to the global situation in 2020) to compose music to accompany an independent production about the last of mankind in space with a 1980's 'radiophonic' feel. So these are the final voyages of the HMS Resurgence transporting the last of humanity out into deep space. This is the end of the journey with the crew finding a Neptune like planet (cold, isolated and distant) to settle on at the very furthest reaches of the galaxy. Performed by the composer and recording with thanks to Chris Williams.
