Something very special
and magical dawning,
an inspiration from birth,
like The Dark Side of the Moon,
expressing myself with breakdancing,
Othello’s head spins on Margate’s mini roundabout
and clock tower lino-breaking street burns!
Graffiti art and colourful subway dreaming,
our Rush like a Coolbreeze UK electro body shock receiving!
From Jean-Michel Jarre and Gnarley Pig Hair
through to Kraftwerk and the like,
two record players to do a bit of mixing,
bedroom DJ scratching,
Dad not happy with his ruined vinyl,
now his turntable needs fixing!
Acid house sounds squelching,
TB303’s what we wanna be,
to our fresh Funky style like a Butterfly
looking through a technicolour kaleidoscope to see,
a tad too Leftfield for then,
but quite the norm and now acceptable zen.
From a Celestial Angel’s spark, it was the start
of a beautifully truthful and sincere family of friendship
that was sworn, a crew of sweet ‘Beat Street’ music,
original love and special times,
the Hypnotrance Formula was born,
countless live gigs we played, venues large and small
and very small (front room house parties),
mostly around London and the Garden of England everglade,
studio flow you know was strong and progressive
like a thundering express,
and can’t forget the wild & crazy
never ending parties were always the best!
It truly was a decade for us guys to remember
for sure, a voyage through
our youthful mysterious blessed coming of age,
a kind of rhythmic lure!
