The Colombian musician formed part of various Punk and Jazz bands, in his home city of Bogotá, until one Summer he landed in Chicago, where House music turned his world upside down.

After a stint working in NY as a DJ, booker, and music buyer, he went on a globetrotting journey, working on his most recent projects including a record label 'Jigit' and a stellar B2B tag team with O.BEE. Together they are storming the scene and established themselves as one of the most sought-after DJ acts around.

This mix was recorded live from Sunny Side Festival in May 24 on the Yoyaku Stage, so kick back, and Enjoy 🤙🏾

Part of the Outcast Torino crew, Alex Dima honed his craft within the parties that this collective and their extended family have been throwing for some time. As a result of these long sessions Alex has now burst out of his native scene and onto the world circuit. Having already traversed many of Europes must attend parties and venues, he has now made the move to set up shop in Amsterdam where maintains his regular appearances at the finest parties. As well as his touring schedule bursting at the seams, his discography is also in a state of bloom. With his co-ran imprint Coordinate Records gathering pace, Alex peppers this with solo efforts of his own with the future retro four-tracker “Metamorphosis” EP on LAMAIA coming up soon.

Turning our attention back to turntables and Alex has conjured up a near 2 hour trip for our InSession series. With the soundscape taking shape across the full run time of his mix, there are more than a few twists and turns to be found along the way as the full spectrum of his musical reach continues to unfold. From the percussive beginnings, Alex soon shifts through the gears which stops off at synth heavy house, bass focused electro, vintage breaks, and pretty much everything in between. The London based artist has kindly prepared us with just over an hour of predominately mid to late 80’s records…he’s definitely not disappointed! 🕺🏽

MMS #21: Ollie Blunt - Home Comforts Mix

It would seem that there was something in the water in Italy during the tail end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s. We recently highlighted this via our recent Free Download artist, but another Italian artist who is just as influential is Francesco Farfa. Incredibly, he was already a working DJ by the early 80s and that was before the age of electronic music. This just meant when the advent of drum machines dawned across the music spectrum Francesco was already armed to the teeth with skills honed playing funk and disco when early proto-house began filtering through to Europe.
