dao strom is an artist who works with three “voices”—written, sung, visual—to explore hybridity and contemplate the intersection of personal and collective histories. Using practices of polyvocality, fragmentation, and (re)assemblage, strom writes arrangements of poetry, music, lyric essay, image fragments, song and sound, layering voices and their echoes aurally, to be experienced as installation, videos, performance, music, multimedia, and inside the spaces of a book. Her latest work is a book/album project, INSTRUMENT/TRAVELER'S ODE, to be released in Fall 2020 by Fonograf Editions & Antiquated Future Records. 

She is also the author of a bilingual poetry-art book, You Will Always Be Someone From Somewhere Else (AJAR, 2018) and an experimental memoir, We Were Meant To Be a Gentle People + song-cycle, East/West (2015).
