THE CRIMES OF JIANG ZEMIN is a soul-stirring account of 3 women who were brutally tortured in Chinese prisons because they refused to give up their practice of Falun Dafa.  After narrowly escaping being killed for their organs, they fled to Canada and joined the worldwide movement to bring former head of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin, to justice.
 
Producer Kerry Foster is a singer-songwriter and human rights writer living in Echo Bay Ontario.  Her song ‘Returning to the Ancient Home’ is featured in the documentary.  Producer Hershy He is a journalist for the ‘Vision Times’ newspaper and host of ’That Chinese Show’ on CJSF 90.1 FM in Burnaby British Colombia.

Dovetail Studio is named as such because I have dovetailed my song writing, my human rights writing, and my love of birds, to create music that is deeply moving, profoundly meaningful, and beautiful to listen to. In 2009 my husband Ian and I were the victims of extreme hate crimes in our own country of Canada. Because we refused to remove a human rights sign from our front door, I was fired from my job, we were evicted from our home, and we were forced out of business by our landlord/business landlord. Homeless, deeply in debt, and relying on the food-bank for sustenance, we embarked on a 2½-year lawsuit with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario before receiving our settlement and beginning a new life in Echo Bay Ontario. Our personal experience with persecution and suppression of free speech is what prompted me to become a human rights writer, focusing on the ongoing genocide of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. I began writing for newspapers, I co-produced a radio documentary at Simon Fraser University, and I resumed recording my music. Two of my songs have been featured in documentaries and I am still hard at work completing my album. The beautiful songs and amazing resilience of the birds in our backyard sanctuary continually brought us messages of hope and inspiration throughout the years of hardship we endured. Our now-famous sign still hangs proudly on the front of our new home. It says “Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, FalunDafa.”
