Sent from a distant future on the brink of collapse, Bongo & Pusk are here to dissect modern rave culture and find the essence at its core. An alternative version of The Philosophers Stone, known to the children of tomorrow as The Ravers Rock. Without it, humankind is destined to a future deprived of kindness, tolerance and laughter. A future where people have no connection to each other, themselves or the planet they inhabit. Bound as slaves to the Hamster Wheel of Eternity.

Their mission started with wax, plastic and cracked code on old machines. Back in the late 90’s they were just teenagers with a shared passion for rave music, but turning 1’s and 0’s into vibrating air quickly became their focus. Now they operate from their studio in Copenhagen - an inter-dimensional vessel, where folding waves and time with a mix of classic analogues and modern digitals are their weapons of choice.

A keen sense for quality music and a symbiotic playing style has made them a mainstay on the Copenhagen and Berlin underground scene and insistingly pushing their sound performance forward sets them apart from your ordinary conveyor of electronic music. In constant search for that magic moment when the universe aligns and everything comes one, they have guested a multitude of clubs and festivals in Northern Europe and released on imprints like Sum Over Histories, Get Physical, Tonkind, Sofa Beats, Golden Gate Records and Compute Music.


After a recent studio rebuild, our protagonists are now looking deeper into modular sound design and a more performative approach to writing music. That and finishing a lot of works is setting up for much more to come.

DROM : A playful session had created a groove, but it had no real direction or purpose so it stayed in the drawer for a while. Simultaneously we were exploring darker sonic territories and that unnerving feeling of having pushed things too far. Enter Juno-60 and a simple chord bending its way deep into our souls, and Drom was born. A celebration of the uglier side of rave culture and that ambiguous feeling of not being able to stop and enjoying it too.

Roland Leesker has been at the heart of Get Physical for almost 15 years. He has helped shape and define its house sounds, broken new artists, and curated hit releases. He is also a producer who has contributed many great solo cuts as well as in collaboration with greats of the scene such as DJ Pierre and Roland Clark. He now serves up his most complete and impressive body of work to date with 'Searching for Peace.'

Leesker's musical journey began by cutting mix tapes of his favourite songs from the radio. The joy of finding danceable tracks from the early years of electronic music "made me feel very happy and peaceful and that gave me an early inspiration for what I wanted to do with my life." Since then he has continued to search out the perfect tracks, A&R innovative new artists and work closely with talents everywhere from Croatia to India to Africa and Brazil. Now, after putting so much time into the careers of others, "I thought it could be nice for a change to produce a few new tracks myself, focusing on what got me here in the first place: Music and the joy it brings, creating it. So this is me, 'Searching For Peace'."

The adventurous and accomplished album kicks off with 'Keep On', a lithe and playful house cut with lush chords and hooky vocals. The gorgeously warm and natural 'Summer House' is perfect outdoor dancing music with rousing strings, and the low-slung 'Let It All Go' is a collaboration with Dan Diamond that brings hip-swinging claps and a spoken word sample that muses on modern life, but the standout feature is the tumbling lead synth motif that draws you in deep. 'Motor City Interlude' captures the sounds of a bustling party happening in the room next door and 'All These Lives' with Jacinto samples a classic melodic riff but works it into shimmering and late-night broken beats with a smoky spoken word.

The superb 'Haus Musik' is an irresistibly flashy and acid-laced peak time sound with retro chords, jacked-up drums and raw vocal stabs. 'What Is' gets deeper with a classic early Chicago bassline underpinning rugged synth lines, and analogue percussion and synth strings all amping up the energy levels before 'Respect' is a rousing and synth-laced cut that leans into a captivating hi-tek Detroit style groove. The album comes to a beautiful close with 'Afunukuthula' featuring Xhosa vocals from Sobantwana that tell the tale of newborn life around deeply moving synths and piano chords.
