Edgar Robert Guess Jr., known professionally as R.E.D.G.A (Righteous Ethical Diligence Guarantee Accomplishments) and formerly known as Rage Hunta Red Muff, is a Fiction-Non-Fiction Hip Hop artist with roots in Manhattan, NYC, but heart in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born in the city that birthed legends and raised in the 919 since the age of 12, R.E.D.G.A brings a sharp blend of East Coast lyrical legacy and Southern soul.


His musical journey kicked off on February 3rd, 2016, when he penned his first rhyme for an online associate’s video game wrestling project because the bars needed correction. That one verse turned into a calling. It was supposed to be a one-off—but once he felt the power of pen and rhythm, it sparked something deeper. With encouragement from online peers, he recorded two early tracks using a basic studio app while still in high school, during Spring 2016.


Caught between summer school stress and academic grind, he turned to YouTube and discovered the Golden Era of Boom Bap—Rakim, Nas, Wu, Big L, all that raw substance. That golden era sound raised his pen game and gave him something real to aim for which became the foundation of his style—raw, educational, honest, and underground. He began releasing freestyles in September 2016, reopening his SoundCloud for more than just listening—it became his outlet.


By February 2017, Edgar wasn’t just another student behind a lectern—he was an emcee with a point to prove. During a school OVP Debate on Online Music Sharing, he broke the mold. While others read off notecards, he stepped up and delivered a fully-structured verse, blending research, rhythm, and raw conviction. Each bar was backed by fact, and each punchline pushed the culture forward. The class didn’t see it coming—but they felt every word. Even the teacher had to pause and give props. He didn’t just win the debate, he transformed it. Turned the lectern into a mic stand, the classroom into a cipher, and showed that Hip Hop still got breath in places they ain’t expect it to.


In May 2017, just before graduating, he produced a track called “Dark Dayz” as part of a class assignment. What started in school evolved into something bigger—it officially dropped as part of his debut mixtape, My Time Has Come, released in 2018.


From that point on, R.E.D.G.A proved he wasn’t just playing with words—he was building a foundation. Blending clean delivery, educational messages, and street-conscious storytelling, he’s one of the few emcees still dedicated to the craft. From Manhattan blocks to Raleigh pavement, R.E.D.G.A represents both cities with pride—but the 919 is where he honed his craft, grew as a man, and built his own lane.
