Following from Mexico City producer Max Jones’ recent Cornetto EP, Correspondant’s 31st release, All Star Mexico, is built around a clutch of rising producers affiliated with imprints such as Electrique Music and Disque Discos, described by their founders and affiliates as global benchmarks of Mexico's electronic music scene and advocates for the creation of a Latin techno identity. 

All Star Mexico will see a digital release via Correspondant on October 20.

Foremost machine disco label Blindetonation is back with another brilliant package, this time offering six sizzling cuts from Lithuanian pair BlowEnder. On point remixes come from daWad&Mokic, Damon Jee and Demian. 

Erikas Kasparaitis and Aurimas Milešinas are BlowEnder, a pair first formed a year ago and who recently disbanded, so this is their first and last EP. And that is a shame, as it is a noteworthy one that really impresses over the course of the three fresh originals. 

Opening up in great style is ‘Drugs No Hugs’, a lithe and slithering disco track with big guitar riffs, gnarly bass and a whole ecosystem of cosmic synths as well as breathy vocals. Together it all adds up to a steamy brew that really gets under the skin.  Darker offering ‘The Pain’ is more menacing, with a brain frying lead synth line underpinning tripped out melodic fireworks. Twanging guitars and more of those dehumanised vocals add mood to the late night groove. Last of the originals is the snaking and punky ‘Daddy Was A Milkman’ with aloof and spacey vocals making for a laid-back and intoxicating brew of neo-disco steaminess. 

First to remix are daWad & Mokic, another great duo and one that releases their wares on Days of Being Wild and The Exquisite Pain. Their great version of ‘Drugs No Hugs’ is gritty and gauzy, with guitar textures offset by popping perc and droning synths that are heavy and mournful. 

French artist Damon Jee is a producer who can count everyone from Chloe to Daniel Avery as fans, and who has put out his rock infused electronica on Tora Tora, Definitive Recordings and Clouded amongst others. He has a blurred and twisted style that is clear in his naughty and mischievous take on ‘The Phase.’ It builds in circling, paranoid layers and has real slap in the hits that help drive it along.

Last but not least, Demian is an assured talent who has ties with Jenifer Cardini’s excellent Correspondant label. He goes in a totally different direction, with knackered house drums and heavenly pads making for a loose and raw track that will bring real euphoria to the ‘floor.  

This is a fascinating EP that covers plenty of ground and offers exciting new sounds for dark disco lovers everywhere.

Pardon Moi is the Berlin-based New Wave Duo featuring the British producer and song writer James Brook & German producer and DJ Thomas Freudenthal. „Addiction“ sounds like John Foxx and Gary Numan joined forces with the global chug, dark disco and synth wave haute volée. This track would have been in the UK Top 20 in 1981, for at least three weeks, we are sure! And the remixes are great too! The Kike am Radar remix adds some high noon post-punk edge to the game, James Rod turns „Addiction“ into a dusty, slow motion new wave monster from outer space. K-Effect turn it into a chuggy synth wave groove and MontCosmic's punchy remix is maybe the tightest of them all with its anthemic vocals, driving new beat acid synths, hypnotic grooves and heavy handclaps. A quality package of New Wave!

Mexican duo Veltran & Piertt deliver here a dark fulled EP with solid synths and rough beat. Haunting ghosts from dark cites that never sleeps. Remixes provided by Thomass Jackson and James Hadfield to complete the dark experience of that EP. 
Thomass Jackson is argentinian born dj & producer. During his teens he experiments with different musical styles, but always in bands led by traditional instruments. 
Since 1998, he starts a close relationship with electronic music thanks to massive raves being held in Buenos Aires. He hangs out with friends who own recording studios and from these sessions came two projects that were edited by Sonic 360 (UK). By this time he begins to play bass for dance act Capri (Gigolo Records) that leads him to world touring and other high end musical ventures. 
Finally in the late 2000´s he starts releasing his brilliant music through renowned labels like Gomma Records, Correspondant, Electrique Music and La Dame Noir just to name a few. He has remixed artist like Astro, Luke Temple, Ilya Santana and Iñigo Vontier & Dan Solo. 
Spain, Mexico, Germany, Bolivia and USA are some of the countrys where he has played and has shared booths with: Poolside, Tiger and Woods, InFlagranti,Naomi Ruiz, Blond:ish, Thomas Von Party, Horse Meat Disco and Mike Simonetti just to name a few.
He now lives in Mexico City where he's a resident at some of the best clubs like M.N.Roy and Mono.

Sisters & Brothers is a new series of releases under hfn music, curated by Kasper Bjørke and Sexy Lazer. 

The second volume in the series sees the turn of Russian Girls - the brainchild of Guðlaugur Halldór Einarsson, a member of the alternative Icelandic band Fufanu who just released their second album ‘Sports’ and of the duo Captain Fufanu before that.

As russian.girls, Einarsson explores a range of sounds,fitting perfectly into the the Sisters & Brothers ethos.

‘Are We Here Yet’ is a darkly comic and wonky electro pop song full of angular sounds and thick synth riffs.

‘Þeir & Þær’ is another atmospheric oddity, channeling new wave and industrial sounds from the early 80s.

Amfetamíngangsterar’ starts with a stripped down motorik beat and devleops into an echo drenched groover with off-kilter melodies and urgent, nervous stabs.

‘Autopilot’ continues the outsider pop vibe, featuring a loose, detuned groove and spiky guitars around a killer vocal.

What’s clear is that the Sisters & Brothers series is going to provide endless surprises and treasures for the adventurous listener.
