Phillip Morris. A man who has no idea what the word "cool" means, in any sense other than temperature. A revolutionary thinker trapped inside of an emcee’s frame. After years of honing his rhyme skills, in 2004 he hit the scene, going to any open mic he could find, and in 2005 he began writing and recording his first album while still frequenting various open mics across Chicago. This led to Phillip receiving a hosting spot at Innjoy's open mic alongside fellow Chicago emcees Awdazcate (pronounced audacity) and Readymade.

The mixture of Phillip's unique voice, complex rhyme schemes, anomalous subject matter, coherent freestyles, and comprehensibility forced the underground hip-hop community to abruptly take notice. Released in early 2006, his debut album (the self-produced "Instrumentality") featured a wide variety of styles and subject matter. It includes the sharp-tongued social commentary of "Divided States", the widely felt ballad for the emotionally battered woman entitled "World of Deceit", and the bewildering combination of lyrical acrobatics & borderline psychosis laced upon "The Nightmare Before Christmas". This timeless piece of art was eagerly received by fans, helping catapult Phillip into a steady cascade of live performances at various bars, venues, and political events. Along the way, he began collaborating with the Tomorrow Music Orchestra. He often does collaborations onstage alongside the TMO, and also with cellist Lilianna Zofia and violinist Hanna Rae. Always looking to the future, Phillip continues to make original music as far from the norm as possible, keeping crowds entertained with complex rhymes while speaking out about the injustices occurring worldwide. Both avid fans of hip-hop and skeptics alike have (or will soon) become addicted to the cancerous choice.

Running With Yinzers began as a home recording project for songwriter Collin Rice in his Pittsburgh, PA apartment. Most of the debut album was written and recorded in Rice’s apartment in Squirrel Hill during 2013 and he plays all the instruments on several of the tracks. The songs took on new life after the band’s move to the Philadelphia area as more and more complex instrumentation was added to those original recordings. As a professional philosopher, Rice finds ways of repeatedly delivering lines that are simultaneously engaging, insightful, and amusing such as “they give me pills, as if there’s a cure, for being unsure” or “this building is really quite unappealing, like a recipe that just says salt to taste”. Indeed, Rice’s continuous flow of whimsical insights consumes the listener’s focus throughout the album. Adding to the lyrical interest, the underlying music also shows great diversity, drawing on influences from Yo La Tengo, Pavement, The Clash, The Velvet Underground, The Talking Heads, Dave Matthews Band, The Strokes, Robyn Hitchcock, Parquet Courts, and others. Their self-titled debut album includes a variety of meticulously layered tracks whose low-fi recording style helps keep their delivery direct and genuine. Some tracks are assertive and rhythmically driven; others are tender and intimate. Before the band relocated to Philly, “The Sans Song” had already begun to grow in popularity. It’s a pacey distorted rock number with whimsical lyrics throughout that demand the listener’s attention. This is the most consistently delivered style among a collection of 11 tracks that span an impressive range of genres, tones, and themes. In addition to The Sans Song, “A Place Where People Live” is an assemblage of catchy acoustic guitar riffs (a la Dave Matthews) combined with Talking Heads inspired lyrics (i.e. it’s a song about buildings and people). The song ends with a catchy groove and saxophone solo that will have listeners reaching for the repeat button. Continuing the album’s playful tone, “David Lynch” describes Rice’s experiences “stepping through the red curtain” while becoming obsessed with the characters in the television show Twin Peaks. The song provides a unique look at Rice’s reaction to the strange darkness of Lynch’s world. Adding still more diversity to the album is “Sometimes I Miss the 80s”, a laser-shooting synthesizer romp that critiques our ever-growing dependence on technology and the desire to “take you back in time”. These songs are mixed in with several other tracks in which the band explores an impressive range of music that is sure to provide something for everyone to connect with. The result is a debut album that is both musically and lyrically unique and continues to entertain even after repeated listens. The band is currently recording their second full-length album in Philadelphia with an anticipated release in August or September of 2017.

AngMohRecords was founded by me, Terry Owen, in 2013 with the intent of compiling and distributing the wealth of beautiful awe-inspiring music being created which struggles to pinpoint its identity within existing musical classifications, taking inspiration from electronica, folk, pop and ambient styles.


This new venture follows six years working as a founding member and producer within Bit-Phalanx Records, establishing myself as a solo producer and performer under the T-toe moniker performing alongside acts such as Plaid, DJ Vadim, Cats in Paris, Mixmaster Morris, Kone-R, Shitmat, MrsJynx, Chevron, The Gasman, etc. as well as releasing EPs through Bit-Phalanx and Complex Sound Sagacity, and supplying exclusive tracks and remixes for OneLittleIndian Records, Mango&Sweet Rice Records, The Centrifuge, Digital Vomit and Magneoton, amongst others.


On a personal note, the creation of AngMoh Records signifies a steady but significant change in my musical taste over recent years and a desire to help promote and develop the sounds which resonate with my emotional being; sounds with a focus on a simultaneously melancholy and uplifting mood, bathed in melody and harmony, and constructed with the use of honest and inventive orchestration and production.

Occidental Gypsy plays an exhilarating blend of gypsy folk, jazz and world music that delivers a lightning-fast, complex acoustic sound, with sultry vocals just like the first era of swing.

The L.A. Times says,  “irresistible, a virtual definition of an era when jazz was often described as “hot” music.  Occidental Gypsy’s rhythm section, usually driven by the surging rhythm guitar of Brett Feldman, hit one irresistible rhythmic groove after another, “hot” was the best applicable adjective.”

The Chicago Tribune says the band “…celebrates the optimistic spirit that made Reinhardt-Grappelli an antidote to the tough times of pre-World War II Europe (and beyond)... the music-making – proved carefully considered and nimbly delivered.”

Nationally recognized Occidental Gypsy plays a dynamic, multi-genre mix of original vocal and instrumental pieces, as well as notable covers like a “gypsified” take on Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Concerts feature near-famous original songs like “Panamanian Express,” and hot jazz covers of "Over the Rainbow,” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing."  Their acoustic vigor fills the room like an electric show, and the band banter between songs is equally entertaining. Their fans include musicians who enjoy the sophisticated compositions, but most folks just come to enjoy the music and dance. Occidental Gypsy’s music clearly tributes the past, but cannot be easily classified;  a bit of jazz, a catchy strain of pop, a seismic swing experience, and  “a whole lotta’ gypsified groove…”

The Boston Globe has named them a “Best Bet for Weekend Entertainment,” and musician David Bromberg said of the group, “great singing, fantastic guitar and violin work, with high energy originals that leave the crowd crazy. An awesome band.”  

Well known as capable heirs and nouveau pioneers of the music of Django Reinhardt, Occidental Gypsy was featured at the 2015 DjangoFest in Mill Valley, California.  The band has filled houses at legendary venues like Nighttown in Cleveland, Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, The Ark in Ann Arbor, The Triple Door in Seattle and the Chicago Old Town School of Folk  The band has shared the stage with greats like Rikki Lee Jones, Jorma Kaukenen, Stanley Jordan, Joe Sample, Tony Rice, and Bromberg. Side projects have also brought band members to Jazz and Lincoln Center, playing alongside artists like Wynton Marsalis and others.

The band frequently stuns crowds with lightning-fast, passionate violin, and lead guitarist and composer Brett Feldman drives the band's sound with masterful gypsy swing guitar, learned the "traditional way" (by ear from masters).  Jeremy Frantz — a protege of legendary jazz guitarist Joe Negri— brings his sultry, retro-style vocals and expert jazz guitar to the front line, and serves as an exquisite counterpoint to Feldman’s down-and-dirty guitar.  Percussionist Jon Chapman and bassist Jeff Feldman pull together the band’s vibrant sound with rich tones, while they keep crowds moving with complex rhythms that make their fans keep coming back for more.



ShiAne has a voice that is both heart wrenching as it is captivating. Hailing from the NT her song writing draws on her experiences from birth to adulthood and her relationships with love ones. With influences ranging from the soul singers Aretha Franklin and Amy Winehouse to the indie folk artist Ben Howard and Damien Rice. Her songs open up a doorway into the complex depth of her soul. Abi Foster is a singer-songwriter and covers act who performs live across Cheshire, Shropshire, Wales and the Midlands on a regular basis. drawing inspiration from a variety of artists including Lorde, Damien Rice and Orla Gartland, Abi is constantly working on new material and experimenting with ideas. 2017 has seen Abi perform at Shrewsbury folk festival, Filey Return of the Dragon, BBC Radio Shropshire and Under the Bridge London promoting her album "Everything Ends."

Flaming Hot Danger: A band founded by Brendan Rice and Nick Smith dedicated to Grandiose Storytelling, Complex and Advanced Musical Orchestration, Social Commentary, and Making You Cry.

PJ is a singer/songwriter born in Kingston, Jamaica with a Belfast accent and reaching a height of 6 foot 2. Growing up listening to an eclectic collection of genres, PJ’s music takes on a certain hybridity between numerous different genres. The live show incorporates a loop station thus creating larger and more complex sounds than the average singer-songwriter and essentially PJ is a one-man band. If the music were to be summarized in one sentence it would be a cross between Stevie Wonder and Damien Rice and defined as Acoustic Soul music.
