well told story - not unlike Poe's - the dissonance does have a profound effect

This song started with Dan Ls exploration of "The Devil's Interval".  The flatted fifth creates dissonance and is not often used in music.  I associate it with the song "Black Sabbath" by "Black Sabbath".  You can find it in other "evil" sounding songs.

Because of the dissonance I contacted DanB and asked him if he was interested in writing a song with me using this musical element.  He agreed and we wrote this song.

DanB writes:
Well this is something quite different for certain!!  It is something very unusual. I have titled it "An Ode To Edgar"
Of course I mean Edgar Allen Poe.  A master at the macabre.  This is a story of a most likely, very disturbed man. Obsessed with Edgar Allen Poe.  He may or may not have committed a murder. 

It can be determined that he is delusional and quite unbalanced. Therein lies the, um... fun.
