All your days remember the day.
Q - Why tie a knot in your handkerchief?
A - To remember something you would otherwise forget.

The passover event - the day. Exodus 12:3-13
  - the day that made God's people who they are:
    a people rescued from God's universal judgement
    a people made distinct from the rest 
    a people leaving the old life and entering a new life with God

The passover feast - to remember the day.  Exodus 12:14-20
    a week of remembrance (repeat the meal re-telling the story)
-over time the feast became:
    - a time of cleansing (get rid of yeast became get rid of sin/idols)
    - a time of consecration (recommitment exclusively to God)
    - a time of thanksgiving,celebration, hope and joy
    - a time of earnest prayer for healing of broken relationships
-over time God's people stopped keeping the feast and the nation experienced moral and spiritual disintegration.

Jesus uses the passover to teach what he came to be & to do.

the death of the passover lamb >> the death of Jesus
      - Jesus gave his body
      - Jesus poured out his blood
The judgement of God will pass over all those who believe Jesus died on the cross in their place. John 3:16,36.  Titus 2:11-14
