Introduce yourself?

Hi there ~ I’m Jesse. I live in LA, run a label called Motion Ward, walk dogs, love food, make music with my friend John, DJ from time to time, and love my friends and family. Music is a way of developing emotional closeness with people for me :) 

Where did this gig take place?

This gig took place in Turin, which is in northern Italy right next to the Alps. The venue was a DIY space run by Misto Mame Collective and affiliates. About 9 people pay for the space to be able to operate monthly, and the feeling of community there is really strong and sweet. It was a highlight for me on this recent tour I did. Also really loved the people ❤️

What did you drink as you played?

I had one beer and water lol, and at the very end someone brought me a glass of red wine :) Was trying to minimize the amount I was drinking so I didn’t have to go pee, but eventually I had to loop a track and bolt to the bathroom :X (can you spot the moment?) 

Favorite moment in the mix?

Probably when it starts to escalate after the first few tracks ~ it reminds me of when the energy that night palpably shifted and felt like the dance floor was turning into an amoeba 🦠

Thought it must be about time for another episode from Deepcast HQ, with Myles Mac & DJ Possum back in the mix for a relaxing journey guided by the eternal balearic breeze of the 90s. Two and a half hours of smooth summertime groovers with plenty of vocoders, utopian dream states and moments of total rave nostalgia. Dancefloor chillers for the deeply inclined and/or reclined. This session was a fun one. They started mellow and built it up so nicely. Someone climbed a tree and got a bit too high so security tried to chase them out and it was just a vibe. DJing by that sea in the morning at sunrise is just so nice and they nailed it. Here's 60 minutes of good.
