We started Last Year March 20th  Breeze1k Was walking and Freestyling with his Homeboy Out of the Blue a guy came up to Breeze1k and said " i love the way you freestyle kid " after that the guy introduced breeze1k into his label called " Fly Kid Music Group" Breeze1k responded with " Sure Sir We can talk about it but i dont want to jump on my own is it ok i can bring my homeboy along " The Guy name was Fresh he responded saying " Sure make a team like a music group" Breeze1k Said " Ok alright no problem " Next Day at that same place breeze1k was hanging with Tyler Stay snapping They Walked up  to Fresh and informed him that " this is the team Breeze1k, TylerStaySnapping,Cupid " Fresh asked them to freestyle and thats what they did the first group by them was called " RaaNation " thats when everything started comming to a point but not knowing that a move was not made then  a good 6 months passed the group broked up from fly kid music group because the kids were not comfortable because there were no moves made a good 3 months passed breeze1k and tylerstaysnapping were hustling on they on they were talking about making another group called " Dope LifeStyle Music Group" thats when everything started to build up by that time breeze1k and tyler stay snapping came out with they first DLMG single Called " Forever Girl & New Day " It was the biggest hit for the group to get known around broward county the kids were talented and well educated the next 2 months in  school breeze1k was talking in class about his hit " New Day " Thats When AjaayBanks Jumped in the conversation and asked breeze1k about his music group thats when breeze1k explained to him about his Musicgroup so Ajaaybanks told him about his single he wanted to put out so after class Ajaaybanks Showed breeze1k the single he been put out called " Make it Out " And Breeze1k saw potential so that same after school breeze1k and tylerstaysnapping were talking about letting ajaaybanks in the group next day after class breeze1k offered ajaaybanks to join the music group called " Dope Lifestyle Music Group " And AjaayBanks Accepted The Request After That Day. Day By Day Breeze1k , TylerStaySnapping and Ajaaybanks were talking bout Dropping a New Song Called " On Top " by that same time they grew up  a bond. Loyalty Over Everything They had Lots of talent these kids were learning everything on they own no need of manager these kids grew up having by experience of they own day by day they were dropping hits Back to back People Couldnt believe How big of support they had most kids were excited to see them work hard and going to the top these kids such as breeze1k and Tyler Stay Snapping grew up in the same hood Called sample road And the Kid Called Ajaaybanks grew up in Cb County Half of His Life Time Grew Up in 1st Side at the age of 10 he passed on to 2nd side now the way these kids bonded was amazing job and art work very impressing as time passed these kids were working on to get more noticed from broward county and more people out there by that time these kids were doubted from allot of party promoters rappers and more these kids were nothing to them at that time these kids mind set changed they were thinking better, faster, and wiser the kids changed they whole game up thats when the group became " Gwapz Gang "  breeze1k was the most fed up about how people kept on doubting his team he started telling his team on how he wanna change the whole flow up to a new mind set " Gwapz Gang " Is Now Going to be the New up comming Group in Broward These kids came From Nothing To Something Better Catch This Next Ride Double G is Comming Real Soon !!


How did you get your hip hop name? 
 
My real name is Ali and that's a name rooted to my heritage and background – literally translated as "Noble, Exalted & Elevated". That's something i couldn't change; let alone people have been calling me that my whole life! 
"Kulture" came from the movement i started alongside of my closest brothers when we originally got into Hip-Hop and rapping all together.  Till this day we are a united movement in the D.M.V area but everyone else that was originally rapping alongside of me took on other roles within the umbrella – from clothing to videos.
 
Since everyone decided to push me to the forefront and support me as far as the Hip-Hop aspect is concerned, it only made sense to make Kulture my last name.
 
Where were you raised, did you move around at all?
 
Being raised in a single-parent household; moving has been a consistent part of my life.  I was born in Pakistan and lost my father at age 2, this transpired into my family moving to the Bay Area when I was about 5 years old – San Jose to be exact.  I lived there till I was about 15 and still hold everyone I grew up with in that city very near and dear to me – which should shed light to the label I'm currently under [Greenhouse Hunnitproof records].
 
At age 15 I moved to the D.M.[V] area and moved around almost every 6 months – which in the long run has proven to be a blessing in disguise.  It has helped me to establish a wide network, and that at the end of the day, sheds light to the saying "Your network is your net-worth".
 
I've lived everywhere in this area from Falls Church, VA to Fairfax and I currently reside in Centreville, VA.  I hold my faith in Allah to a very high degree and at the end of the day I believe I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be.
 
What are some of your life experiences that pushed you towards making music?
 
I think the past few questions might answer that already but the concept of loosing my father at a young age – seeing the struggle my mother has had to go through to raise a son and going through that day to day struggle of becoming the man of the house has triggered a creative side for me to express.  The avenue i chose to relay my story is Hip-Hop; which has truly become a means of release therapy for me.  Most of the time i listen to my music and i can pinpoint exactly what i was going through at that time in my life – and exactly how i felt about it.
 
I think my music now is more reflective of the man i've become and the responsibilities i've had to take on, i believe in telling your story exactly how it is – i wasn't raised around a circle that allowed me to fabricate stories in my music just to hold some sort of a persona – and i'm thankful for it. 
 
What are some of your music influences, or favorite artists?
 
The only artist i can truly say has been an "influence" on me is 2pac.  My music influences have become highly diversified through the recent years – mostly due to how ignorant hip hop seems these days – i catch myself listening to everything from Jazz, Alternative, Contemporary – even Country.  Of course Hip Hop is a daily part of my life but i've grown to appreciate all genres of music.
 
What age did you start making music?
 
Man me and my cousin Aftah Sum wrote our first rap when i was 12 years old 
 
What is it like working in both the Bay Area and the DMV?
 
Its a blessing – networking is key.  Having a solid network is the best foundation you can have.  I'm blessed to have solid people in both areas standing behind me and pushing me constantly – its really the driving force that keeps me going – seeing how many other people are involved in what i'm doing and how much they really believe in it.
 
Tell us your best experience in the music industry so far?
 
Thats a tough one – i've opened for artists like Bone Thugs, Lloyd Banks, Joe Budden, Pusha-T, etc. and meeting them and talking to them about the industry has been very eye-opening for me; but above that i think the best experience ive had has been my growth.  I'm thankful for all the connections i've made and i have bonds now that will last me a lifetime.
 
Whats the newest single you just dropped? 
 
I just dropped "I'm Winning" and i have a video that is set to drop later this month called "Let It All Go".  They are all in rotation on DMVLIFEradio.com 
 
Do you have an album in the works?
 
I absolutely do – it's going to be the epitome of all the hard work i've put in so far and the bridge between the Bay and VA. Its called E.P.I.C [Every Piece I Create] and i'm hoping to drop it in the summertime. 
 
Anybody in the industry who you are interested in working with?
 
I would love to work with Lupe Fiasco.  I think he is one of the few big names in Hip Hop that has held onto the idea of "Artist Integrity".
 
Besides that it would be dope to work with Styles P, Nipsey Hussle, J.Cole or Maino – they're dope.

What separates you from every other up-and-coming rapper?
 
I think the key aspect that separates me from every other up and coming rapper is content and background.  I'm rooted to the struggle – whether you talk about single parent households in America – low income or what its like to be a muslim in the world today.  
 
What separates me is my choices – i never let the situation i was in define me.  I was taught to defy every odd because at the end of the day this is the land of opportunity, there are opportunities here that i would never have in my home country of Pakistan. Through it all i did something not many rappers do – i got an education.  Then i went back and educated myself more – i have an Undergraduate degree and a Masters degree in Business. Everything i did was on my own two feet, i've never gotten a handout in my life – i'm thankful for it and i am the definition of self-made.

As an accomplished theater actress, she co-starred in Lorraine Hansberry’s To Be Young, Gifted, and Black, as well as James Weldon Johnson’s God’s Trombones and Kwamina. For television and film, her credits include various network specials, soap operas, and the original movie Shaft.

As an extension of her creative and activist self, Yarbrough turned to writing in the 1970’s. Her published works have appeared in The New York Times, The Black Collegian Magazine, andThe Journal of African Civilization. In 1979 Cornrows, the award-winning, groundbreaking family book that Essence magazine called “a gem,” was published and later three more books followed:The Shimmershine Queens, The Little Tree Growing in the Shade, and Tamika and the Wisdom Rings.
In contemporary pop culture circles, Nana Camille is known as the singer whose song and vocals were sampled on the international mega-hit, Praise You, by techno-musician Fatboy Slim. Her first solo musical recording, The Iron Pot Cooker (1975) is where the hit song Praise You originated.

Writer and activist Kevin Powell offers this praise of the now classic album: “Without question, The Iron Pot Cooker is a precursor to Lauryn Hill’s best-seller The Mis-Education of Lauryn Hill.”

'This E.P is about taking on life's adventures whilst remembering where home is, It builds from title track 'Columns Of Peace', a reflective and peaceful folk/blues ballad to an energetic samba/soul fuelled finale called 'Return to Love'

Leo has recorded his own e.p's as a solo artist, wrote and produced albums with bands such as 'The Sugar Beats Band' with which he won a Birmingham Jazz Award and played and toured with Birmingham gypsy punk legends 'The Destroyers'.
Leo has helped produce his own music videos, one of which 'Cabin Fever', a music video made in collaboration with animator/filmaker Theo Godley and three home educated children from Brighton, was selected for the 'Bang!' short film festival. He has also featured on other artists records notably the 2003’s BBC Radio2 Folk Album of Year ‘Sweet England by ‘Jim Moray’.

At present Leo is also involved with ‘MOJO’, a show from award winning company TheatreRites, which showed at The Barbican. Leo co wrote the music with world-renowned percussionist Adriano Adewale, and together alongside dancers and puppeteers they stared in ‘MOJO’, which was voted No.1 Christmas family entertainment show by Timeout magazine 2011.

François ESSINDI  is an artist and a musician from Cameroon.
He plays traditional wind, skin-stretched, stringed and body-activated instruments such as :
Stringed  :Mvet, Ngomo (traditional harps)
Wind : Pygmy flute, leaves, mouth –activated bow
Drums : Nkul ( calling drum), Ngom (long drum), Djembe, Cajon, …
Body percussion : snail-shell and hazelnut, body drumming
Educated at the National Orchestra of Cameroon and thanks to many trainings and cultural meetings, François is also an actor and followed many educational sessions via the Goethe Institut in Yaoundé and the French Culture Centre in Yaoundé.
A professional actor, François played with several theatre companies in Cameroon.  Among others he shared a long adventure along with the Eyala Pena company, a road theatre company. He also shared a project together with the Un-Excursus theatre company, from Montrouge, France.

François music- wise works with different artists from various backgrounds, works with dance and theatre companies as an actor or music composer.
Composes or co-operates on movies as an actor, composer or co-author. He works with and upon traditional music instruments, that are on the verge of extinction, and which he handcrafts himself in Paris, sometimes modifying their original shape. He defines his music as ”The Tag Ekang Music Experience” … : bring together on stage instruments, sounds, machines and musicians from all backgrounds.
François performs in schools, penitentiaries, on concert  in cultural places for festivals and in the corridors of the Parisian metro, as a certified artist of the Parisian metro since 2009.
