Joton joins for DifferentSound Podcast #108.

Joton is synonymous with dark techno, iron, futuristic and sensitive, all mixed with the precision and speed of a surgeon. His powerful personality and marked charisma, as DJ and producer, is based on a stylistic maturity, a professional serenity and a well-founded artistic criterion, always in constant and restless progression, through which everything that he pricks and produces is identified. His sound is industrial, analog and mechanical. Dystopia and the club are discussed. Detroit, Berlin and Birmingham. Starting from the very marrow of techno. It is physical, blunt, modular and exciting.  His label `Newrhythmic´ has been more than 15 years supporting high-octane techno by native and foreign artists. Joton’s tracks have been published by labels such as Fabric, Symbolism, Planet Rhythm, Format, Dynamic Reflection, More Than Less ... and have been charted and screened by artists of the great size of Ben Klock, Dvs1, Rodhad , Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero, Adam Beyer, Surgeon, Truncate….  As a DJ, he has evolved from his beloved and traditional vinyl to the current digital format. Thanks to it, Jotón enriches his sessions by providing an added boost to his innate ability to connect it to the dance floor. In 2015, a milestone occurred in his career with the publication of his first album 'Casting Out Nines' that garnered excellent reviews by the public and specialized press. It was considered one of the best works in long format of that year and this placed Joton in the focus of the entire global techno scene. He launched this album in 10 countries on 3 different continents. In this 2017 Joton release his second great project called 'R3silient', present his purest and analogical side; Returning, once again, to the primitive, to the seminal, to the roots of techno. In 2018 two new works will see the light, Antioquia on the German label ODD EVEN and Extreme Mesures on RAW RAW, again capturing the industry's attention. Joton's global touring schedule has filled up with performances at the most renowned venues in the world including Under club in Buenos Aires, Tresor in Berlin, Le Batofar in Paris, Corsica Studios in London, Grelle Forelle in Vienna, Propaganda in Moscow, Domunne in Tokyo, Vurt in Seoul, Razzmatazz and Moog in Barcelona, Stardust and Fabrik in Madrid, among others.

DifferentSound invites Joton / Podcast #108

Comrade Winston could not have wished for better soil to grow as a DJ. The scene in his hometown of Nijmegen, located in the eastern part of the Netherlands, has given him ample opportunities to hone his skills. Now based in Amsterdam, his sound has caught the ear of many music enthusiasts, dancers and promotors.  

Fast mixing techniques and a taste for old school records with real groove and funk have achieved mayhem on many dance floors and have given him a strong reputation within the techno community. These abilities at the decks have earned him a position as a steady player at the infamous Reaktor parties as well as a residency at Operator Radio.

With no signs of slowing down, Comrade is ready to take the past into the future.

Merlina is a DJ born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, creator of her techno cycle called Ørnament. These last years she dedicated herself to nurturing herself as an artist, training as a DJ and currently as a music producer, where she continues to incorporate different hypnotic and groove sounds. Merlina is currently part of the roster of a national artist agency called Blastkick, and has played in various clubs in the capital and in the interior of her country, as well as internationally in neighboring countries and in Europe.

KRENVKO es un artista gallego residente en Madrid. Amante del Techno de los 90s, es decir un sonido más old school en general y un enamorado de los bombos rotos. 

En sus sets trata de combinar música actual con lo antiguo. Iago lleva varios años demostrándonos su calidad a la hora de actuar en una sala con su exquisita selección musical y la manera que tiene de conectar con el público en sus sets.

Actualmente es integrante del colectivo y sello conocido como Twelve Inch Spain (Archaic Print) y ha actuado en clubes como The Basement, Sky Room, Pantalán, Sala Muv o Sala Siroco.

Ha tenido el honor de compartir carteles con artistas de categoría como: Tensal, Oxygeno, Aiken, Bran Lanen, Chlär, Not A Headliner,Anne, Insolate, Alarico, Anabel Arroyo,Ramiro Lopez,Dj Swisherman,Lefrenk,Karras Martinez, Cintia Martins,Liños,Obseth,Anxiety For Living ...

Iago es un autentico terremoto que viene pisando fuerte y trata siempre de hacer algo distinto y único en cada set. Sus años de experiencia le dan esa seguridad que tiene encima de una cabina.

KRENVKO is a Galician artist residing in Betanzos. He is a lover of 90s Techno, that is, a more old school sound in general and a lover of broken bass drums.

In his sets he tries to combine current music with old music. Iago has been showing us for several years his quality when it comes to performing in a room with his exquisite musical selection and the way he connects with the audience on his sets.

He is currently a member of the collective and label known as Twelve Inch Spain (Archaic Print) and has performed in clubs such as The Basement, Sky Room, Pantalán, Sala Muv or Sala Siroco.
