Born in Valencia and now based in Berlin, where he’s developed and expanded his sound, drawing on ambient and experimental as much as leftfield electronica and IDM. He runs his own label B.I.V. -  where he released his debut EP Endless Field - but also has releases on Barcelona stalwarts Lapsus or Modern Obscure Music (both from Barcelona), as well as in Berlin's R.I.O. If you’re looking to imagine what he might play on a Saturday afternoon at Sónar, best to look towards his mixes for LYL Radio or Red Light Radio: moving from the spaces occupied by his own productions into more dancefloor-friendly moods.

The Frenchman has been active in the scene for more than 7 years, co-running the cassette-focused label Maturre in Berlin as well as releasing full EPs on Brokntoys, Lost Dogs Entertainment, and dozen of singles and remixes on other platforms. With a keen ear for melody, Poperttelli’s versatile vision can seamlessly bring together anything from grubby electro or industrial EBM to hypnotic or even funky drifts. Poperttelli’ DT podcast 198 is full of well-executed changes of style and tone as well as evocative soundscapes, shaping up a great listening experience in the midst of the current winter gloominess. Gamma Intel is a name that in the last couple of years has garnered a place of its own in the electronic music scene, and for a reason. Hailing from the fertile scene of the city of Rotterdam, his output gives an ironic look into a post-industrial dark future. All smiles with zero naivety. His production, on labels such as brokntoys, Pinkman or Mechatronica, has become a go-to for setting a dancefloor ablaze, in an ever-evolving process of sonic self-discovery.

His mix could be easily titled 2020, for it conceals the strangeness of the current times and a strong willingness to navigate them as they come. Disruptive patterns, uneasy emotions. Breaks pulling and pushing through. Autumn melancholia in what seems 2049. When the dystopian becomes present, hope acquires a fainted cue. But hey, after the pain comes the fun. Gotta keep it up.
